The German Industry Association's summer reception is over and all I see on social media is: People sharing photos, funny anecdotes, praising Dorothee Bär's speech and that she played a couple of games on site.

Not a single mention of her anti-queer agenda, zero support for my attempts to finally get a (convincing) response to my inquiries regarding the mismatch of the Association's alleged diversity-oriented values and their complete lack of criticism towards Bär. Nothing.

지난해 12월, 비상계엄이라는 초유의 사태를 겪으며 광장에서 수많은 이야기가 오갔습니다. 성소수자임을 고백하던 떨리는 목소리, 이주민 2세로서 한국 사회에서 겪었던 차별을 고발하는 목소리, 여대를 향한 낙인, 괴롭힘, 차별을 문제제기하던 굳센 목소리, "구조적 성차별은 없다"는 말로 탄생한 윤석열 정권 하에서 얼마나 좌절하며 동시에 분노했는지 외치던 페미니스트의 목소리. 그 모든 목소리를 생생하게 기억합니다.

마침내 윤석열이 탄핵된 이후 한 달 남짓 시간이 흘렀습니다. 각 당에서 대선 후보가 결정되고 본격 레이스가 펼쳐지는 지금, 어떻습니까? 광장에 넘쳐흘렀던 그 다양한 목소리에 대한 응답은 보이지 않습니다. 여성 후보가 없는 대선, 주요 공약에서 성평등이 보이지 않는 대선, 다시금 "여성가족부 폐지"가 이야기되는 대선이 아니라, 우리는 다른 정치를 원합니다.

It turned out that it not only limits internet access, but also changes words used in messages to a more regime compliant wording. And it creates screenshots on a regular basis that can only be accessed by governmental authorities.

You might say that we’re far away from this and that’s true. But think about MS Recall or the still existing EU plans for chat control. Maybe it will never become as worse in Europe, but history teaches us that everything that can be done, will be done sooner or later unless people stand up against it before it’s too late.
