@smallcirclesjust small circles 🕊 after nuking my Meta services (most years ago, the last piece last year), I had to setup WhatsApp because I'm moving to Europe and literally everyone assumes that's the only way to communicate there. Our real estate agent being the first guilty party. It's really frustrating.

I use SMS when people do not have #Signal. My experience is that people will install Signal after exchanging a few SMS's and you tell them about Signal. If you give in and install WhatsApp, other people will start contacting you on WhatsApp for sure, and Signal usage between you and your contacts will go down.
I ended up switching my iPad back to full screen mode. The new multi window mode is a bit beta fiddly but overall fine, just not something I have any use for on an iPad. Switching between full screen apps is really all I need.
에디터에게 중요한 건 키보드 단축키가 다양하게 잘 지원되는가 인데, 이건 확실히 emacs의 최고 장점. 코어 개발자, 유저, 확장 개발자들이 모두 공유해야 하는 문화가 필요해서 간단하게 따라잡을 수 없는 부분이죠. 역으로 가볍고 단순하게 쓰려면 단점인데, 요즘 GUI 에디터들이 웹 기반이 많아서 emacs가 딱히 무겁지도 않아요 이젠. ㅋㅋ

Weird Computer Contest
A contest to see the strangest computer being used to read mastodon/the fediverse. The prize is a cool drawing from me just for you.
Rules:
1. Post a reply to show your device and why it is strange. Can mean hardware and software. A photo is better.
2. You can't go *too* much out of your way to use some goofy device that you don't ever really use.
3. Winner selected by general consensus.
This is *not* just an excuse to see/post photos of strange computers.
I've seen a few posts from the #RetroComputing community, using DOStodon. And hopefully this tag means someone will see...

완벽하게 이해했다는 자신이 없는 상태에서 남의 코드의 변수명들을 수정하면서 이해해가고 있는 와중에
__pragma(optimize("",off))로 최적화를 끄라고 했는데도 디버거가 로컬 변수의 값을 괴상하게 보여줘서
뭔가 이해가 부족한 상황에서 잘못 수정한 게 아닌가 깜짝 놀랐습니다만
개발 빌드가 아니라 디버그 빌드로 하니까 제대로 보여서 안심했다는 사연입니다.
그리고 오늘 명확히 알게 된 것
최적화 프로그램은 로컬 변수를 제거하거나 디버거가 이해할 수 없는 위치로 옮길 수 있습니다.

Fascinating paper. It's long, 200 pages; you can read the intro and the Discussion section and get much out of it already though, but they do their homework.
Effects of LLM usage on memory retention and task execution:
- LLM users do get judged well by human and LLM judges for their essays
- Can't remember them
- Low cognitive activation
- Essays are mostly the same

개발 환경은 플랫폼 벤더의 1st 티어 제품을 쓰는 게 현명합니다. 윈도라면 VS(Code), 애플이면 Xcode, 리눅스/유닉스면 emacs.(응? ㅋㅋㅋ)
리/유는 반은 농담이고; 개발을 진행하는 플랫폼에서 지원 잘 되는 환경이 제일 좋습니다. 하나 잘 쓰게 되면 다른 것들도 감이 오기 마련이니까 모르겠다면 일단 1st 티어를 추천하는 거죠.
OS 벤더에게 서드 파티 개발 툴은, 자기가 조금만 더 잘나가면 쫓아내고 싶은 "적"입니다. 지금 자기네가 인기가 부족하니까 돌아가는 거 참고 있을 뿐임. 리눅스는 자유롭지만 다른 OS라면 1st 티어 쓰세요.
단순한 에디터라면 그냥 아무거나 써도 문제없지만, 개발 환경을 생각할 때의 이야기입니다.

Mastodonはサーバによって規模とかぜんぜん違う故に、全てに当てはまるような正解のpostgresql設定は無いんだろうけど、Holloみたいに用途が決まっているしサーバ規模も特定しやすいワークロードならある程度は開発側から設定提供が可能な気がする
2 things I noticed:
1. Buttons look more like buttons now. Despite glassy and have legibility issues, they have outlines around them unlike the previous flat design.
2. They moved the icons location in the menus. Previously on the right, now on the left.

apsigの実装を今週中にある程度終わらせたかったんだけど早めに終わらせないといけない仕事があるのでそれを片付ける必要がある (仕事って書いたけど別に契約してるわけでもお金もらってるわけでもない、ただ個人情報扱ってるので個人的に優先順位高い)

나는 Fleet이 Jetbrains에 묶이는거랑 살짝 무거운게 맘에 안 들어서 자주 안 쓰는 중... (아무래도 Fleet 자체가 어느정도 trim-down 되었다곤 해도 그래도 좀 무거움)
무엇보다 VSC의 리모트 개발 기능이 어떤 에디터에 비교해서도 거의 뒤지지 않는 엄청난 확장성과 편의성을 보여줘서 이걸 대체할만한 리모트 개발 에디터는 SSH로 연 Vim 정도인데 내가 이걸 선호하지 않아서 그냥 VSC 씀
무엇보다 Fleet은 사유 소프트웨어다보니
