Ugghhh. Just searched for kids' Police toy sets out of curiosity, because my youngest is very interested in the whole cops and robbers thing right now - but urrrggghh they're full of violent weaponry.

One set event looked like a SWAT style outfit. Grim.

Any parents successfully redirected such an interest away from the "bang bang let's shoot the thief" side of things?

ようやく、目標体重の59.5kgを下回った。

運動も必要だが、どっちかというと食事の管理が大切だった。

減量はライフスタイルを変えないとダメだ。は、ある意味で真理を突いているのだなぁ。

AI가 매시간 사람과 대화를 해서 새로운걸 학습을 하기 때문에 점점 아는게 많아져서 그렇다고 주장.

Shocked that PLDI 2026 will be in the US - I thought it would be blindingly obvious that the US are not a viable place for an international academic conference anymore. Just wrote an e-mail to the ICFP SC to that effect, just in case.

- Stemming an Ebola epidemic.
- Building a production grade COVID Vaccination Supply Chain “From BionTech/Pfizer to jab in arm” in three and a half weeks.
- Supporting Route Planning for Humanitarian Disaster Relief Convoys (again in three weeks).

I go into much more detail in the talk, and I plan to share even more details in future blog posts, but these are the kinds of projects that make me wake up in the morning and that make it all worth it. 3/3

I am very proud of this talk because it the first time I got to speak about three projects we (my team at @neighbourhoodieNeighbourhoodie Software and I) have done that are very close to my heart.

I’m calling them, cheekily again, our three “once in a lifetime” projects. Projects that you can’t believe you were a part because of their impact and that have an outlasting effect on your personal and career trajectory. 2/3
