Trump on Texas floods that killed more than 100 people and counting: "Their response has been incredible ... I think a lot of lives have been saved. As bad as it was, you could've lost double or triple. Congratulations on a great job."

A good friend is job hunting. San Francisco bay area, remote, or with relocation paid.

Please pass this on.

20+ years of unix and linux system administration and automation. Last 7 years were infrastructure engineering: deployment pipelines to lay out and configure cloud infrastructure; developing a vm system with native containers to replace a kubernetes-based deployment model; and implementing an automated status page management system in python with a fully-configurable workflow engine to translate metrics from prometheus and loki into status updates on a third party status page service.

My July is off to a very good start, book-wise. Some of my favorite authors have recently published new works and I devoured them:

*Anima Rising by Christopher Moore (technically June but it was too fun not to mention)
* The Demon of Unrest by Erik Larson
* Stone Blind by Natalie Haynes
* Careless People by Sarah Wynn-Williams
* Fox by Joyce Carol Oates

Now I need to decide what to read next: The Flâneur by Edmund White or Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver...

What are y'all reading, @bookstodonbookstodon group ?
