There's all good news on the Dutch government front looking into using alternatives for their own services and projects.

@janvlug just published a blog post (in Dutch) on how @developerdeveloper.overheid.nl is considering code forge, the forge software that host for more than 200k people, serving more than 300k repositories.

필기도구 중에서도 붓은 멋스러움의 궁극인 것 같다. 서예가 괜히 예술분야가 아닌 듯. 세상 똥손인 나로서는 서예 잘 하는 사람 보면 그저 부럽기만 한데, 그들이 그 경지에 오르기까지 쏟아 부었을 노력을 생각하면 재주가 아니라 근성에서 난 탈락했을 듯 싶다.

다들 명심하셔야 되는 것은 오픈소스 개발하시는 분들은 대체로 정부 지원을 확정적으로 받는것도 아니고, 사용하는데 있어서 돈을 받는 코드를 개발하는 것도 아니고, 기업같은 조직 형태조차 유지 못하는… 그냥 사람들이 자투리시간 써가면서 무임금으로 코드 작업이 돌아갑니다. 기껏해야 개인방송 스트리머들이 받는 것처럼 개개인(?) 후원 도네이션 받는 돈이 고작이죠. 그래서 시간도 돈도 사람도 모자랍니다. 즉 구글 같은 거대기업이 AI 동원해서 취약점 파헤쳐 내면 그걸 대응할 시간도 돈도 사람도 한없이 모자란단 얘기죠

지난 7월부터 Google Project Zero가 취약점 통보 후 7일 이내에 문답무용으로 90일 후 취약점을 공개해버리기 시작한데다 AI까지 써서 취약점을 대거 파헤치자 소수로 운영되는 오픈소스 메인테이너들이 패닉 상태. FFmpeg이나 libxml2 같은 근간이 되는 프로젝트 조차 대응에 허덕이는중. '니들 돈 많으니 기왕 발견한거 수정기여도 좀 해라'가 본심. https://thenewstack.io/ffmpeg-to-google-fund-us-or-stop-sending-bugs/

I keep seeing confusion about what “open source” actually means. It applies to the code and how you can use or extend a project.

Open source doesn’t entitle anyone to demand support, open issues, or get patches accepted. Maintainers are volunteers and have the right to accept or reject contributions, close issues, or ask people and companies to back off.

If you want more attention, fund the work. Financial support gives maintainers time and resources to focus on the project.

よく母ちゃんがカボチャの煮物出すけど「そんなもりもり食いたいほどのもんではないんだよな…」ってなるんですよ

嫌いではないんだけど好き好んで積極的に食うほど好きな男少ない気がする
