수도권 기준 한낮에도 영상으로 올라오지 않을 정도로 굉장히 추운데요. 500hPa 일기도를 보면 두만강 이북, 북간도 인근에 -45℃짜리 한랭핵이 떡하니 자리해 있는 것이 보입니다. 850hPa 일기도에는 기압골이 한반도를 관통하고 있는 것이 보이죠. 이 바람의 길을 타고 차갑게 식은 바람이 맹렬하게 불어오고 있는 것입니다. 현 시각 850hPa 등온선을 보면 한반도 최하단인 부산에 -9℃선이 걸려 있는 것을 볼 수 있습니다. 한겨울에도 잘 찾아오지 않는 상당한 추위로, 눈구름이 형성되면 어디든 바로 눈이 내릴 수 있습니다.
서해 5도와 제주도, 전북에는 대설주의보가, 경기/강원 대부분의 지역에는 한파주의보가 내려져있습니다. 강한 서풍이 불어오며 백두대간 동쪽 지역 전체엔 건조주의보가 내려져있기까지 합니다. 강풍, 풍랑, 대설, 한파, 건조까지 종류별로 다 주의해야 할 날씨입니다. 또한 충남, 전북 일부 지역에는 대설 예비특보가 추가로 발효된 상태입니다. 눈이 내려 달빛을 비춰 이 내란의 어둡고 엄혹한 밤을 조금이나마 밝게 해 주길 바랍니다. 그 바램이 이뤄지는 것 처럼 오늘과 내일 전국적으로 눈이 조금씩 내리겠는데요. 올해 제대로 된 첫 눈입니다.

이 소식에 분노할 시간도 주지 않고 이정재 영장전담 부장판사는 추경호의 내란중요임무종사 구속영장실질심사에 대해 "혐의 및 법리에 대해 다툼의 여지가 있어 법정 공방을 거친 뒤 합당한 판단 및 처벌을 하도록 함이 타당한 점, 피의자가 불구속 상태에서 변호인의 조력을 받으며 방어권을 행사하도록 할 필요가 있는 점, 피의자에게 도망 및 증거인멸 우려가 있다고 보기 어려운 점 등의 여러 사정을 종합하면, 피의자를 구속하여야 할 사유와 상당성을 인정하기 어렵다"라는 기막힌 소리를 계엄 1주년 날에 던졌습니다. 나경원의 망언은 덤입니다.

So with Cohost shutting down in about 24 hours, a note to every remaining social media site: You should totally rip off the "Following" pane.
Cohost had a view where (as alternative to the normal linear feed), it showed everyone you follow, sorted by last post, and you could click to see recent posts. A problem with social media is the more you post, the more space you take up. Cohost "Following" made everyone take up the same amount of space, while still prioritizing recency. A nice compromise

I am have been learning Japanese largely on my own for the last five years. I've changed around how I have been approaching it, but have settled on immersion (lots of watching and listening to content in the language) as the best way.
I do flashcards everyday using Anki, where I learn ten new words and review words I already know and I am basically always listening to something in Japanese so long as I am not interacting with people or doing something that commands a lot of attention (so while walking, cleaning, cooking etc I am always listening, I also have a shower speaker). I don't do anything every special with my attention when immersing, I think the subconscious is where the magic of language acquisition happens.
I also love video games, I have a steam deck which I have more or less perpetually docked and connected to my housemate's projector. My favourite game is probably Undertale. I also love The Witcher 3, The Legend of Zelda and Hollow Knight.
Anyway it's nice to meet everyone!

This was always kind of my sense of how museums worked, but I definitely learned some things from it. (I am not and have never been a museum professional.)
It reads like museums today are archives twenty years ago and libraries seventy years ago.
Everything that is wrong in museums starts with wall labels
It is difficult to separate the issues and questions that contemporary machine-learning and “artificial intelligence” technologies raise in the context of museum without addressing the long history of past attempts to make collections “digital” and how those efforts have played out organizationally over the years. So many of those issues end up being made manifest in the challenges surrounding the production of wall labels and this talk will discuss some inconvenient truths (and opportunities) about museums and computing that AI surfaces.
