Plenty of people is blaming "AI" in the abstract for the recent RAM price spikes, but I haven't seen anybody around here point to the actual and direct culprit of it all: Sam Altman secretly bought 40% of silicon wafers (not even produced RAM, just the silicon wafers) from two of the biggest RAM manufacturers, at the same time. Not even with specific plans for what kind of RAM do with them. This is just to mess up with competitors.

i open their webpage and it lags my entire pc with, i think, this background animation of "moving lines". taking a screenshot took several seconds and chromium stopped rendering the ui at one point
any idiot can make an efficient static site. it takes pure brilliance to make it inefficient (why does it need 1 GB of GPU memory?!)

For the Linux folks...if I said I wanted a Windows user-friendly version of Linux that would let me edit Word docs with a minimum of compatibility concerns and also had -good documentation-, especially regarding the install process, would you still suggest Linux Mint, or something else?

이유는 알 수 없지만 인류는 거대한 물체의 통제권을 얻을 때 실제 자신이 가진 능력보다 더 나은 존재가 되는 감정에 사로잡히곤 했습니다. 조금 심하게 말해서 "전능함을 느꼈다." 랄까요? 하긴 자동차를 생각해보면 이해가 안되는 것도 아닙니다. 1톤 이상의 쇳덩어리가 오롯이 자신의 손끝에서 그 움직임이 좌우되었으니까요. 어쩌면 그건 전능함까지는 아니더라도 전능함의 수백만분의 일정도는 되었을지도요. 그 순간만큼은 수백만분의 일정도 신이 되었던거죠.그러니, 운전대만 잡으면 타인에 대한 폭력성이 커지는건 어쩔 수 없는 일이었을지도 모르겠습니다.
그런데 어느 순간 인류가 그것을 깨달았습니다. 거대한 물체를 통제할 수 있다면 더 나은 내가 될 수 있다고요. 그리고 지금까지 역사가 증명했듯 인류는 이번에도 멈추지 않았습니다. 뜨거운 경쟁이 시작되었죠. 모두가 주자였습니다.
남들보다 먼저 태어난 갓난아이는 인큐베이터에서, 삶의 황혼을 앞둔 일국의 수장은 수많은 전쟁무기를 통제하는 버튼 앞에서. 그들은 자신보다 거대해진 자신을, 조금은 더 전능해진, 조금은 더 신에 가까워진 자신을 느꼈습니다. 어쩌면 정말 신이 될지도 모르겠다고 생각했고요. 과연 그들은 신이 되었을까요?
불행하게도 알 수 없었습니다. 자동차의 운전대를 잡았을 때 증폭되었던 폭력성이 비대해진 전능함 그 이상으로 증폭되었기 때문이었죠.
덕분에 인간이 정말 전능해질 수 있는지 알 기회는 영영 사라졌습니다. 세계는 새하얗게 불탔고, 이제 인류는 없습니다.
그것이 우리가, 인류의 질문에 백지로 답을 낸 이유였습니다.
그들이 그 의미를 아는데는 그리 오랜 시간이 걸리지 않았습니다.

ブーストしてもらえてるので追記しておくと、私の場合は労働組合がそもそもマイナ保険証の強制に反対していて、連絡してみたところ「資格確認書をA4で発行するのは嫌がらせだと思いますね」と返信があり、かつ今度の組合会で「資格確認書を健康保険証と同様のカード状の仕様にすること」を要望として提起してくれるようでした ご意見が集まれば行動しやすくなる、というパターンもあるので言ってみてもいいかもしれないね…というやつでした
