Over the weekend I got Pi-hole up and running (first time user), and it sure is eye-opening seeing what your devices are up to.
The screenshot that's all red, for example, is my Samsung smart TV, which is constantly talking to Netflix (and other domains, even when using my PC and not interacting with the "smart hub".) I haven't opened the Netflix app in at least two weeks.
The other one all in green (allowed for now), is my Echo Dot with Alexa. That thing is talking to Amazon constantly...

#Vacation ended and I went back to #work on #Friday. It was a low key day.
A couple things I've continued to do since starting vacation:
1.) The hour-long solo #winter hikes before work. This has done wonders for my #brain.
2.) Decreasing my "reliance" on #tech. Still using the flip phone for daily comms. My #smartphone is on silent, usage is significantly less, and only check in with notifications and messages a couple times a day.
Not that I am a sedentary person. Quite the opposite but as a #caregiver and #parent for a #disabled #child, self-care time is, by several orders of magnitude, significantly less.

AI models don’t really 'get' the BSDs. As a result, they often provide incomplete, imprecise, or flat-out wrong answers by defaulting to Linux paradigms. When it comes to illumos-based systems, they just completely lose the plot.
This is becoming a serious issue for the BSDs and illumos ecosystems. We are seeing entire websites flooded with AI-generated tutorials and guides that are totally incorrect. Most people don't realize this; they follow the instructions, fail, and then assume that the BSDs doesn't work well or are 'unstable' because they have supposedly changed since the guide was written.
Luckily, some people eventually find my blog, reach out, and finally understand what's actually going on. Others, unfortunately, end up on major social sites or comments, claiming that these systems are broken.
In 2026, one of our greatest challenges will be teaching people how to vet their sources and filter information.
And I see this as a very, very uphill battle.

The results are classic GIGO but with lots of extra hardware thrown at it for no good reason.

I have to use natural peanut butter but mix it is a real chore.

I was using an electric hand mixer through a PB lid I drilled a hole in the middle of, but my new mixer isn't long enough to reach the bottom.

클로드 코드 쓰고있으니 더 나은 VCS에 대한 욕심이 커진다. 나는 클로드가 브랜치를 더 자주 쪼개서, 원하는 시점으로의 롤백이 더 편해졌으면 좋겠다.
하나 생각나는 아이디어는 브랜치 명을 hierachial하게 만들어서 가령 fix-bug-1/refactor-class-foo/fix-function-bar 이런식으로, 무슨 일하는지의 맥락을 브랜치명에 나타내는 것이다. 그리고 a/b 브랜치는 a 브랜치의 자식이어야 한다는 제약도 강제한다.
...는 git은 a란 브랜치가 이미 있으면 a/b, a/c 같은 브랜치를 못만든다. 이유는 바로... git 브랜치가 이름 디렉토리로 관리되기 때문이다. 뭐 이런;;
기술에는 선악이 없단.ㄴ 말이 무슨 의미로 하는 말인지도 알고 거기에 동의하기도 하지만 역시 기술은 가치중립적이라는 이야기에는 거부감이 들어요. 기술과 그 기술이 세상에서 어떻게 이용되는지는 대체로 분리 불가능한 영역아닐까요
