What happened to Renee Nicole Good is not an anomaly or a rare phenomenon. The only unusual factor is that she was white. A Black man named Keith Porter was shot & killed by ICE on New Year’s Eve. Marimar Martinez was shot five times by an ICE officer in Chicago who went on to brag about leaving seven holes in her body. She survived but has a hole in her arm forever. Silverio Villegas González was shot dead in Franklin Park Illinois when he panicked and tried to run. Then there’s the more than 30 people who’ve died in the camps. No accountability. No punishment. TIL that the tailwinds docs are not open source. It is the first time I see a popular OSS project with this kind of non-license approach for their docs. Are there other examples out there? Maybe I missed them too assuming that docs followed the same license as their code.

I'm taking a different approach regarding the Pixelfed webUI update.

As much as I want to drop in a new frontend, it would require redesigning the admin dashboard and every view.

So I've started a new feature branch to update vue to v3, alias bootstrap classes to tailwind and refactor the bootstrap-vue components to prepare for the big transition to vite, vue3 and tailwind.

This will force me to fix and redesign every page and layout at a time, which will also eliminate most bugs.

This post sparked a long thread regarding poor accessibility in the Loops mobile app.

Loops is in beta, and we have made progress in improving this, but we can't compete with TikTok/Reels ML generated audio captions.

I am looking into on-device captioning, but it's complicated, especially when you consider i18n.

That being said, we are going to improve accessibility in the app and webUI as best we can before our official release ❤️

.NET에서 HWP 파일을 다루고 싶었던 적 있으신가요? 저도 그랬습니다.

지난 3주간 Java 기반 hwplib를 .NET으로 완전히 포팅했습니다.

641개 파일, 50,000줄 이상의 코드, 54번의 커밋으로 .NET Standard 2.0, .NET Framework 4.7.2, .NET 8 이상을 지원하며, 크로스 플랫폼 (Windows, macOS, Linux)까지 고려한 것이 특징입니다.

AI 코딩 어시스턴트와 Visual Studio 2026의 에이전트 기반 디버거 덕분에 혼자서는 엄두도 못 냈을 규모의 프로젝트를 3주 만에 완료할 수 있었습니다.

특히 VS 2026의 디버거가 스스로 브레이크포인트를 설정하고, 변수를 추적하며, 문제의 근본 원인을 찾아주는 경험은 시니어 개발자와 페어 디버깅하는 느낌이었습니다.

이 프로젝트는 neolord0(박성균)님의 hwplib가 없었다면 불가능했습니다. 오픈소스 생태계는 이렇게 서로의 어깨 위에 서서 성장합니다.

시작은 단순한 호기심에서 “한글 파일을 .NET에서 직접 다룰 수 있으면 좋겠는데…” 이런 생각을 한 .NET 개발자가 저만은 아닐 것입니다. HWP 파일은 한국에서 공공기관을 중심으로 여전히 널리 사용되는 문서 형식이지만, .NET 생태계에서는 이를 제대로 다룰 수 있는 오픈소스 라이브러리가 마땅치 않았습니다. .NET에서는 그동안 HWP 파일을 다루기 위해서, Windows OS 한정으로 아래아한글을 설치하면 같이 따라오는 HWP ActiveX 컨트롤의 COM 타입 라이브러리를 불러와서 제어하는 것 정도만 겨우 다루어지고 있었을 뿐이었지만, 안타깝게도 이 마저도 지원이 중단되면서 지금은 길이 막힌 상태죠!
