@zkatkat I made an account to say that this project is great. I wanted to share my anti-LLM spiel:
When considering the use of a tool for a purpose, you need to ask three things:
1) Does it do the job well?
2) How is the tool made and who controls it?
3) What are the consequences of using the tool?
The answer to 1) is "No" unless you the job is either spreading (m|d)isinformation or having an accountability sink is extremely important.
For 2), the tool is sourced unethically, on the exploitation of the global south and by plagiarising a literally epic number of works. It also is entirely controlled by whichever vendor (OpenAI, Google, MS, etc.) --- this means that, even if the answer to 1) were "hell the fuck yes", you are now hitching your cart to a horse controlled by the tech bros. Hard pass.
3) The environmental impact is catastrophic. People's ability to THINK is literally atrophying. Follow-up questions CANNOT be answered by the LLM or the people using it, leading to maintenance nightmares.
