holy fucking christ dude claude is frighteningly good.

It still *needs* an expert involved to be useful, but this could well be a force-multiplier.

I don't withdraw the numerous criticisms of AI and I still think this is a bubble, but this _is_ going to be a useful tool.

And it _can't_ replace the jobs of the people running it.

But it _will_ be a useful + powerful tool I think.

I change my view with the facts, and yeah.. wow.

📚 🤘 Here's the new Cookbook and its nice Typst-rendered PDF: github.com/LispCookbook/cl-coo

Since last year it received 185 commits by 14 contributors.

The works include new content, updates of existing sections by following the ecosystem (new SxQL queries composer, new ICL terminal and browser REPL…), adding bits of informations here and there, improving clarity, improving "getting started" for all platforms, improvements for the web and the PDF, many fixes.

Dear Fedi friends, some good news:

Today I learned from @liaizonwakest ⁂ that the Parisian art space @palaisdetokyo is on the fediverse.

I was curious about the server it's hosted on, so I checked it out and more good news: there are several cultural institutions on it.

Turns out, it's an initiative by the French Ministry of Culture: a Mastodon server to share "cultural news in a way that is freer, open and independent" (their words)!

THANK YOU @cercleReseauCulture.fr for being here!

RE: mastodon.social/@arstechnica/1

Oh well. They got to Moxie also. 🙁

It’s a travesty of a headline because “it just works” is not the topic of the article. How this LLM “works” any better than any other LLM is not discussed. Like Signal, it’s e2e encrypted. It’s private. But the privacy violations aren’t the reason LLMs do or don’t “work.” The privacy violations are by-the-by. Taking them away doesn’t mean the LLM’s results or performance will change.

This LLM will still be confidently—and now very privately and privacy-preservingly—wrong.

to further illustrate that you should not think of X as a platform, but as infrastructure for state power:

politico.eu/article/us-state-d
reuters.com/video/watch/idRW62

the reason no regulator in the west will do anything about the CSAM on X is because they cannot do anything about it. enforcing regulation means picking a fight with a military hegemon who is extremely excited to commit as many warcrimes as possible
