@hbonsHylke Bons 🍵 @jimmacJakub Steiner ⭐ it would be pretty handy if a normal/average person could just look up "what are the equivalents of gdocs/word/excel/drive/meet/teams/zoom/{project-management-software-of-the-week}/chat/twitter/pinterest/gmail/gcal/photos/authenticator/1password/chatgpt/keep/notes/maps" right in software and @kolunmi bazaar

a lot of these also have answers already

oddball web utilities are easier to build unshittified versions of than excel is, though. somebody's gotta have an awesome-web-utilties github repo or something, surely?

@hbonsHylke Bons 🍵 @jimmacJakub Steiner ⭐ @kolunmi btw, my absolute favourite app of the past couple weeks has been ... what a pleasant way to enjoy some silly nostalgia. i think i've opened somafm to listen to groove salad, like, twice, in the past 10 years. it's now at least a once-a-day thing because it doesn't require keeping a tiny browser window floating around, somewhere. there's something about native apps that are just so much more *real*.

thanks @haeckerfelixFelix Häcker 🙏

Zum zweiten reaktivieren wir unseren Mastodon-Account. 🐘

Text: „Deine Daten. Deine Entscheidung. Digital Independence Day.

With all the recently unemployed people in tech nowadays (3+ years of rolling layoffs), I wonder if there's enough available skill and drive to form local co-ops dedicated to getting their city/state/county off of Microsoft/Google/AWS tech stacks and onto something open and non-corporate?

It'd almost certainly be cheaper than what the city/state/county are paying now and would
actually boost local employment.
