Me, providing feedback on the idea.

I was really pleased with the range of @uzu microgrants, although it was uncompetitive - we were able to fund all the proposals that fit the open call and had enough detail to evaluate.
Crowdfunding for free/open source at this level is tricky because people do it for fun and intrinsic value, it's hardly possible to fund at a market value, and underpaying while placing expectations on what you do (via bounties or whatever) can be a huge demotivator. We came up with a plan for one option on the open call where people could just ask for some money - not as a payment, but just for some recognition for work they've already done - not to say please do this, or to compensate for the weeks and months poured into the project, but just to say thank you. It's still a bit weird that you have to apply to an open call to be thanked though..

I know it's a long shot but if someone who sees this found their way to Mastodon through one of the leaflets we distributed at #FOSDEM, I want to hear from you--what did you think of the leaflet? I need to generalize those for other events.

“can you recommend an alternative?” no. that’s why I’m so fucking angry. we fucked it. we’re no longer capable of making online chat protocols or web browsers or discussion forum software that people actually want to use. it’s all shit. every choice is either proprietary and exploitative or awful open source garbage sucking all the air out of all alternatives and forks, operated by fucking terrible people. we let this happen.

이 엉망인 광고 말인데, 광고 대행사든 쿠팡 내부 제작이든 결국 AI가 상품 태그 기반으로 이미지 생성해서 자동으로 마케팅 예산까지 쓰면서 타사 광고 네트워크 시스템에 올라가는 파이프라인이 돌아가고 있다는 것이라고 생각함. 사람을 자르고 자동화해서 생산성을 올렸다는 혁신이 바로 이런거다. 광고에 올라가는 제품 회사 (농심)가 고소해야 할 사안 아닐까 싶은... 저 따위 자동화 때문에 오늘도 한 명의 디자이너와 한 명의 마케터와 한 명의 어카운트 매니저가 잘린거 아냐.
