In all seriousness I was thinking about this because of the choice of One Battle After Another to say "16 years later, not much has changed", and they really do not change much. The tech doesn't change, the way people interact with the world doesn't change, and the political environment doesn't change. It doesn't get better and it doesn't get worse.
Which ties into a conversation I had with a friend recently. I said "there's probably worthwhile stuff that will be easier and less divisive to extract once the AI bubble pops."
My friend said "lots of friends are waiting for the AI bubble to pop. It probably won't pop. It will just move on to the next grift. The world won't get apocalyptic completely, but it will continue to go sideways in hard to predict and terrible ways, and while some good things will happen also, the grifts will continue."

자다 깼고, 깬김에 예스24 크레마 리더 윈도우 버전을 리눅스에 보틀로 깔았습니다. 잘 작동합니다. 알라딘 윈도우 버전은 설치 자체가 에러가 나서 안되었고, 리디는 설치와 로그인은 됐지만 이후 실행시 에러가 떠서 실사용이 어려웠습니다. 어차피 리디는 안드로이드버전이 이용가능하니 그걸 쓰면 됩니다만, 알라딘은 여러모로 아쉽게 되었습니다. 일단 다 해봤으니 다시 자러갑니다. 모두 안녕히 주무세요.

What's clear to me though, is that perhaps we never should have sought to use the proprietary protocol by the monopolist.
We put our efforts into pandering to our chosen clients needs to keep using the monopolists software. It's warped our hosting markets outside mere file sharing on our LANs.
It was my bread and butter.
But I yearn for different designs, different workflows.
I think what I'm doing now feels more meaningful. Because it's new, it's not pandering to the status quo.
We cannot achieve digital sovereignty using the same ideas of what our systems should be.
Trying to achieve a function for function replacement for these systems shouldn't be the goal.
