I sometimes picture fediverse as one of these old horseracing toys from the 50s, where the horses represent all the various perspectives and expectations people have of the fediverse. There is no horse to bet on, positions change all the time, horses change tracks randomly. And furthermore there no finish line, the race is an endless slog. The prize of a robust #ActivityPub protocol forever out of reach, getting more elusive as time progresses.
@smallcircles🫧 socialcoding.. @silverpill @raphaelRaphael Lullis @julian @mariusormarius ActivityPub as a space is just a mess, we have multiple types of social media clashing all over one protocoll whcih has a bunch of extensions with some being duplicates of other extensions and then diffrent people fighting over which one is the proper one to implement. At somepoint we just need to reset everything and start from a clean plate cause this shit cant go on forever.

There is no trust building, development or progression. Yet responsibility for all they produce remains on fewer shoulders, with less review and oversight. "Institutional knowledge" becomes markdown files no one reads or writes.
We may find that some of the "slack" in the system was keeping it healthy and sustainable.

한편 쇼가쿠칸 바로 옆건물에 있는 슈에이샤는 성범죄로 체포되거나 한 만화가들이 여럿 있는데... 그중엔 잠깐 쉬고 다시 복귀한 사례들도 있고.
가장 최근에 문제가 되었던게 '액터쥬' 스토리작가의 성폭력 문제로 만화 연재 중지된 걸텐데 그 직후 작화 담당이었던 우사자키 시로 작가에게 슈에이샤가 어떤 일감을 맡겼는지 보면... '주간 플레이보이' 잡지 그라비아수영복 특집호 표지 일러스트였다. 작가를 탓할 생각은 조금도 없지만 출판사가 무슨 생각을 한 건지는 아직도 이해가 안 간다. https://natalie.mu/comic/news/410663

if anyone is keen to try the new stuff out and flush out any bugs, try out the develop branch (and feel free to @ me).
NB: filtering currently doesn't work with quoted toots, which will be worked on separately.

tp.el transients are also fixed or rather awfully workarounded (tp.el 0.8).

イーロン・マスクのような狂人が、AIから一切のガードレールを無くして軍事目的に利用することにためらいが無いのはそれはそうだ。Xは「大規模な監視」もそれなりに可能だろうし、自律型殺傷兵器を作ることにもためらわないと思う。OpenAI/Anthropicの行動は、Xに対しての牽制行動として理解するなら、ある程度評価できるんじゃないかと思えてはきた。
