nextcloud randomly stalls for upwards of 48 seconds then is fine 5 minutes later and this keeps popping up on my uptime monitoring. i could have it only report failure on multiple 48s timeouts, but i am kind of wondering how to solve it in nextcloud itself and what might be causing hangups like this almost regularly

We Should Revisit Literate Programming in the Agent Era

Literate programming is the idea that code should be intermingled with prose such that an uninformed reader could read a code base as a narrative, and come away with an understanding of how it works and what it does. Although I have long been intrigued by this idea, and have found uses for it in a couple1 of different cases2, I have found that in practice literate programming turns into a chore of maintaining two parallel narratives: the code itself, and the prose. This has obviously limited its adoption.

It’s looking like I’m going to need to build a reactive engine for work, so I’m going to prepare for that by writing down what I know about them. I want to look at three ways of building reactive engines: push reactivity, pull reactivity, and the hybrid push/pull combination that is used in a bunch of web frameworks. The Problem Statement The simplest way to visualise reactivity, in my opinion, is as a spreadsheet. You have a series of input cells, containing your initial data, and a series of output cells containing the final results. In between are many more cells containing intermediate computations that need to be done to figure out the final results.

hey remember how the ps3 shipped with blu-ray and the xbox 360 shipped with dvd because microsoft didn't like blu-ray but wanted their hd-dvd instead except they didn't bundle it with their own console so it was an add-on and then cross-platform games limited themselves to what fit on a dvd except that the ps3 was like twice the cost but still cheaper than standalone blu-ray players that just wrapped pentium iii 1ghz pcs so the criterion collection used ps3es as reference devices and film buffs

100曲作ってバズらないみたいなのって音楽そのものよりもプロデュース力やディレクション力が圧倒的に欠乏してることが多い、でも音楽作る人って本当に職人みたいなタイプの人もいるからはやく良い感じのQCやプロデュースしてくれるパートナーを見つけるのが一番早いのにそのことってなぜかあまり触れられない
