Nom Nom - was installed in my HomeLab. But...I installed using apt on Ubuntu and it installed an older version. This was NOT the documented install process - this was the "is snac2 included in apt let's try it" lazy route.

It was ridiculously easy...but I want to install from source so I can keep up with the latest. Will tackle that tomorrow.

Proof tho!

The Nexus of Privacy is planning a series of online discussions and video/phone calls focusing on organizing on decentralized social networks. There's a range of topics to cover, including looking at the tradeoffs between the different platforms for different use cases, brainstorming how organizers can leverage these platforms, easy ways to start exploring, and ways for groups to move as a whole.

理解grassroots social justice的组织往往都很小也很缺乏资源，所以我能理解ta们有时候选择用gen ai做海报，但因为这个工具本身建立在exploit和replace human artists的基础上，我又无法接受。
之前科普一直会担心被觉得condescending或者碍别人事，我最近想既然没资源做，那我就是提供资源好了。所以在建立一个对social justice很热忱的designer和visual artists的资源网络。
又要鼓起勇气去和别人说了，不知道效果如何，希望是好的，别再让我难过了

LG 스탠바이미 샀는데 아주 만족스럽네요.

특히 2세대 제품이 나오면서 1세대 제품의 가격이 내렸는지 69만원이라는 가격이 마음에 듭니다.

전에는 아이패드를 스탠드에 끼워서 썼는데 비교할 바가 아닙니다.

화면도 크고, 바퀴가 달려 집 안 어디로나 이동도 쉽고, 높낮이와 각도 조절도 편하고, 전원선 연결 없이 배터리로 세 시간 쓸 수도 있고, 리모콘도 편리하고 모니터에 자석으로 붙여놓기 편하고, 디자인도 예쁩니다.

2세대 스탠바이미의 UHD 해상도나 디스플레이를 분리해서 세워놓고 볼 수 있는 장점은 별로 아쉽지 않네요. ^^

그런데

유튜브 앱이 프리미엄 계정에서도 광고가 니오는 것은 이상하네요. 그리고 가족별로 계정을 분리해서 넷플릭스, 유튜브, 디즈니+ 등의 앱을 쓸 수 없는 것이 너무 아쉽고요.

I like my software to be more robust by virtue of having less untested codepaths and being "done", instead of developers repeatedly burning out every few years when they inevitably have to rearchitect everything when XYZ component has changed in the middleware stack elsewhere.

From my perspective as a user, having software that is more easily maintained is just as beneficial as having simple-to-use software.

Random TIL 1

Coal can be classified by its "rank", which measures carbon content and heating value. In descending rank, the rocks are called Anthracite, Bituminous, Subbituminous and Lignite (from lat. lignum = wood). Generally, the deeper, the higher the rank (Hilt's law).
