I'm honestly surprised how few projects rely on Fedify to this day. Turns out people have too much fun sticking their hands into the pipes after all! 😄

Honestly?! I'm proud of my ability to connect a lot of disparate information. I took a deep dive down the rabbit hole, so now, after years of doing this kinda thing, to be able to not only remember, but pull data from old NHK videos or obscure trade articles into an informed, working narrative? Beats senility!
But yeah, don't expect to replicate it. My research skills are informed by decades of hard graft. You probably don't want to go there anyway...
Eine grundlegende technische Differenz, die m.E. jede wissenschaftspolitische LLM Strategie berücksichten muss:
Generative (autoregressive) Modelle (die würden wir z.B. für Code Generation brauchen) sind etwas anderes als autoencoding Modelle (für z.B. Klassifikation) oder seq2seq Modelle (für z.B. (multimodale) Übersetzungen). Die autoencoders müssten im Vergleich zu GPT, Claude & Co. - bei gleicher Skalierungsstufe wohlgemerkt - Klassifikation und Informationsextraktion *viel besser* beherrschen, kein ausbeuterisches RLHF benötigen und nur wenig für Halluzinationen anfällig sein. Sie sind halt von den kommerziellen Anbietern nicht auf dieselbe Stufe hochskaliert worden wie die "Chat" Modelle.
Das müssten wir in der Wissenschaft vielleicht selber machen, aber das hätte ja auch Vorteile.

石原千秋『読者はどこにいるのか 読者論入門』を読んだ感想
『読者はどこにいるのか 読者論入門』（河出文庫）石原千秋 著
夏目漱石をはじめとした日本近代文学を紐解いていく内容になっている。
近代文学研究についても触れられているが研究者向けの本というわけではなく、平易な言葉で説明されているので非常にわかりやすかった。
日本では明治期に読書行為が音読から黙読に移行したといわれている。時代の変化、学問の進み、人々の興味関心などさまざまな歴史を経て現在の読書につながっていると感じられるのが面白かった。
エリート層の教養から大衆の消費に変わっていった読書の歩みを見ると、今この時だからわたしは読書を趣味にできているのだなと。そして今後、時代の流れによって小説との付き合い方も変わっていくのかもしれない。
本書の主な流れとしては、小説の文章を細かく読み解いて、主人公・語り手・作者と立場を明らかにしていくやり方で、小説の構造を理解していく。そこに読者が入り込む余地があり、構造的に組み込まれている場合もあるといった話が展開される。小説において読者の果たす役割が見えてくるといったものだ。
注目する点が変わることで、小説の新たな一面を知ったような感覚になって有意義だった。ぼんやりとしか理解していなかった違いをきちんと知ることで、同じ文章でもスッキリとした印象になる。
あまり自信はないが、今後読者として小説に接する際に、読み方の広がりを感じられそうなのも嬉しい。
こうやって理論や技法について知っていくなかで、ふだん何気なく、何も考えることなく読んでいる小説と、脈絡もなく雑に書いている自分の感想文のことが頭に浮かんでくる。いま書いているこの感想も……。
まぁ単なる趣味だから自由でいいのだけれど、素晴らしい書物と作者には敬意を払っているので、なるべくなら、よき読者になりたいなぁと思ったりもした。
実際は、完全に自由に読むということは難しいことだと書かれていた。国語教育や時代のトレンドなどによって解釈が共有されていて、知らず知らずのうちに同じような読み方になってしまうものだという。だからわたしの読書体験も、周囲の影響を少なからず受けているはずだ。
「作品とは読者が自分自身に出会う場所」と論じられているのが興味深かった。影響を受けていることは悪いことではなくて、これまでの出会いや経験が自分を形成しているもののひとつだとすれば、そのすべてが読書体験にもつながっていくのだ。こんなに面白いことはないでしょう。
ワクワクさせてくれる本だった。
