I wrote and recorded this when I was stuck. Intellectually. Musically. Emotionally.

I'm a shit singer, so I was quite literally trying something new. I wasn't really going to release this, but my daughter convinced me it's done in its raw form. Seems to make her happy and so maybe it'll make others happy.

I wish American 'Warfighters' would remember how much disdain Trump has shown for them, referring to them as losers and suckers. I wish they would pay attention to how he is treating Vets in the current purge of government institutions. They should realise that he will discard them just as easily as he disparages them. Not one of them should be fighting on behalf of this man-child.

Love this article on creating good conditions for software engineers to do their best work instead of worshipping 10x engineers. After a few jobs, you start to notice that the same person can be wildly productive in one job, 1/10 as productive in the next job, and bounce back in the following job... I've also noticed that "10x engineers" tend to be surrounded by "unproductive" engineers who are being sabotaged, plagiarized, or forced to clean up by the "10x engineer"

I have issued a first badge, the idea is to decentralize the verification systems, and allow organizations to self-certify. It is incredible that organizations like Microsoft or Non-Profits pay thousands of dollars to companies like Pearson to just provide "verified" badges. Similar to mastodons installed in social-dot-something, thinkg of badges<dot> mozilla<dot>com , certifications<dot>myschooldistrict<dot>com. Or even a podcast emitting a badge for its guests, with the verification in the domain.

ActivityPub already offers a secure way to sign artifacts and interact between actors. The fediverse already have people with profiles, a social graph as @mikeMike McCue says, ready to use. Think of how LetsEncrypt disrupted that market of few actors selling certificates for websites.

I have a functional poc,
@fediverse is not a mastodon, pledora or blog, it is an actor in a badge system, but you can follow it in Mastodon. Its badges will show in but they are not notes or articles. I've been reading a book about Native Americans in comedy and there was a whole chapter on Paul Littlechief who played the Vegas Strip in 1970 and was an excellent self-promoter. He was a Kiowa-Comanche man from Oklahoma. Hard to verify some of the other parts of the story from the book (his second wife was only known as Baby Rae in all sources I could find) but it was a lot of fun trying to track down his old music and photos.

PAUL LITTLE CHIEF + the UPRISING

Has a picture of a man wearing a white suit with a blonde woman in a bikini is leaning back gazing adoringly at hima close in blurry newspaper shot of a man smiling while he sings into an old metal microphone. He has slicked back dark hair and is wearing a skinny tie, collared shirt and suit jacket.

Occasionally someone just pings me on social media and says "Hey this person really should have a Wikipedia page, don't you think?" and I can assemble one. Laverne Jacobs is a law professor and disability rights expert who is the first Canadian member of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. She wrote the first Canadian disability law textbook. I'll be honest, this article mostly wrote itself.
