The first beta release of Mastodon 4.4.0 is ready for testing!
Many user-facing improvements: featured content, updates for lists, follower management, new emoji, and refreshed audio and media players.
For server owners: new legal features, moderation tweaks, announcements updates, upgraded software stack, and some experimental feature options.

Der Bundesfinanzminister Lars Klingbeil (SPD) plant, sein Steuerpaket zur Förderung der deutschen Wirtschaft heute ins Kabinett einbringen. Ein wichtiger Bestandteil davon ist die Senkung der Körperschaftsteuer von 15 auf 10 Prozent ab 2028.
„Angeblich soll dies förderlich für die Wirtschaft sein. Die Unternehmen haben aber nicht viel davon, da der Großteil der Gewinne nicht einbehalten, sondern ausgeschüttet wird“, sagt Alfred Eibl, Steuerexperte bei Attac. „Die Besteuerung wirkt also direkt auf die Anteilseigner*innen. Damit läuft die Maßnahme vor allem auf eine weitere Steuersenkung für sehr Reiche hinaus.“
