#Fedibird のユーザー設定で「表示する言語」に言語を指定すると、公開タイムラインにその言語しか表示されなくなるとあるのだけど、「公開タイムライン」と「ホーム」って違うのか…ここで英語だけ指定しても、「ホーム」タイムラインにはフツーにフォローしてる皆さんの日本語 toot が表示されてきてるわ。

한 2년전부터 XState 대충 알고 쓰면서 느끼는 점들.

1. 처음부터 정의가 verbose하고 그걸 작성하는게 수고로운건 알고있었다. 하지만 LLM을 믿고 쓰기로 결정했는데, 지금 2025년에도 여전히 LLM이 상태머신 설계를 잘 못한다. 얘한테 설계를 맡겨놓으면 뭐랄까, 성의가 없다고까지 느껴진다. 왜 그런거지?

2. Snapshot은 subscribe할 수 있다. 근데 그 Snapshot을 유발한 Transition이 같이 전달이 안된다. 사실 이게 필요했던 핵심 기능이었어서 이게 안된다는걸 알고 매우 당황했다. Transition에 반응하는건 오로지 상태머신 내에 설계된 action을 통해서만 가능하고, 상태머신을 구독하는 쪽에서는 안된다. 왜 이렇지?

3. 상태머신을 확장하는 방식이 제한적이다. 이미 정의해놓은 action, actor들을 다른걸로 override하는 방식을 제공하는데, 상속 비스무리하다는 점에서 한계가 느껴진다. 실제로 사용하면서도 그 한계를 느꼈다.

종합하면 아직까진 수지타산이 안 맞다.

ORCID and the Fediverse: What Can We Do with Public Information?

ORCID is an identification scheme and bibliographic database for academics that aims to make information about researchers’ works widely and easily accessible. The Fediverse is a collection of interoperable social media platforms where people can follow each other across platform boundaries to read and share text posts or other media. Between these two environments, we observe contrasting social norms around “public data” and conflicting expectations on how personal information may be stored and republished. During the early design phase of a tool to bridge ORCID data into the Fediverse and make individual ORCID records followable on open social platforms, we face a need to connect and resolve these differences to prevent avoidable conflicts. This article documents these norms and expectations as well as our approach to connect and bridge them.

@dansup Hej! There is this new service @pubeurope.com with dozens of accounts. I like that they try to get news on the fediverse. I appreciate that in my mastodon feed. But I don't want news in my pixelfed feed. Is it possible for me to block an instance? At the moment I have to open each and every profile and block it there.

I'm trying BattyBirdPi alongside my home BirdNetPi, and the results are...interesting.

Still zero luck getting anything other than a string of false positives out of it for bats.

With approximately the same settings/model (and with a microphone in the same-ish location), battybirdpi gets some pretty wild results.

Battybirdpi will confidently detect some species that are definitely not around here (like the Crake, a misinterpreted Osprey call).

25/6/18 경제 이것저것 얼마 전 남프랑스 일대와 이베리아반도 전역에 대정전 사태가 발생했습니다. @mkcokr.bsky.social 를 비롯한 수많은 경제 찌라시들과 레거시 미디어들은 일제히 재생에너지 탓을 하며 원전으로 유턴하겠다고 보도했습니다. 그런데 조금 이상합니다. 아직까지 정전 원인이 완벽하게 밝혀진 것은 아니지만 예상되는 원인 중 하나로는 급격한 주파수 변화가 발생하자 설비 보호를 위해 장비들이 탈락했고, 연쇄 탈락이 더 큰 주파수 변화를 일으키면서 15GW, 거의 절반에 해당하는 발전기가 탈락했다는 점입니다.
