The cost of a "free" AI request:

* you unlearn how to research
* you unlearn critical thinking
* you unlearn cooperation
* your brain deteriorates
* you get partial misinformation in the best case
* propaganda in every other case
* scientists and artists don't get compensated or credited
* the server farm uses extreme amounts of energy
* autocratic regimes get rich from selling fossil fuels
* tons of atomic waste is produced
* the server farm also uses extreme amounts of water to cool the servers and cooling agent is added making the waste water useless for a long time
* droughts lead to decreased food production
* your energy bill, water bill and grocery bill increase, because prices go up
* lots of greenhouse gas is emitted for energy production
* global heating, rising sealevels, wildfires, famine, extreme weather events all lead to climate refugees
* people influenced by AI propaganda and scared of climate refugees vote for fascist autocrats
* your chatbot will deny the existence of gas chambers while your friends are being burned
* everybody loses

The benefits of "free" AI requests:
* you get to make fun of bad results as long as you still know that humans shouldn't have extra fingers growing out of their ears (which might be the new normal soon due to all the atomic waste)

어제 놋찌가 그런 말을 했어요... 카페인의 체내반감기는 6시간인데... 그렇게 되면 커피를 마신 지 24시간이 지나도 몸 안에는 어제 마신 커피에 들어있던 카페인의 1/16은 아직 있는 거니까 너무 많이 마시지 말라는.........

오늘은 파트원 한 분이 리모트 서버에 ssh-copy-id를 해도 ssh 스크립트에서 비밀번호를 요구한다기에 분석을 해봤다. 사유는 나름 흔한 문제로, authorized_keys의 잘못된 권한 설정이었다. 누가 chmod 777을 실행할 생각을 했을까.

이런 일에 익숙하진 않지만 나름 발휘한 기지 덕분에 해결까지 3분 정도밖에 안 걸렸다. ssh -v가 친절하게 문제가 되는 부분을 알려줬기 때문이다.

앞으로도 Unix 유틸리티의 verbose 로그를 잘 활용해서 분석해봐야겠다.

제텔카스텐이니 세컨드브레인이니 하지만, 정작 우리나라에서 만든 창의적 방법론에는 무관심한 듯.

우리나라에서 제텔카스텐 기법을 극대화하신 분은 다산 정약용 선생 아닐까? 여유당 전서, 흠흠신서, 목민심서, 경세유표 등등 엄청난 저술 활동을 해낸 분. 여유당 전서는 500권이 넘는다. 제텔카스텐을 창안(?)한 루만도 고작(?!!!) 300편의 논문만 썼다.

예전 다산 선생을 다룬 책에서 제텔카스텐 기법을 본 적이 있는데...

Cory Doctorow 發現 Mastodon.social 最新的服務條款中加入了「放棄訴訟權利的強制仲裁條款」，這讓他感到極度震驚與失望。他強調，這類條款在法律上極不公平，尤其當用戶只是點選同意、而非協商簽署時，形同剝奪其法律保護權利。他舉出過去迪士尼利用此類條款阻止死者家屬提告的實例，說明其潛在危害，甚至可能在用戶受到重大傷害甚至死亡時，也無法讓平台負責。他認為這比內容被用來訓練 AI 還更糟，並表示若此條款不撤回，他將無法再推薦他人使用 Mastodon.social。作為聯邦宇宙中的旗艦節點，Mastodon.social 的做法恐將成為其他實例的範本，進一步侵蝕整個去中心化社群的信任與價值。他也呼籲創辦人 @Gargron 撤回此條款，並表示願意協助聯繫 EFF 的律師團隊，協助草擬對使用者更公平的服務條款。

I love opera, particularly singers from the 1940's and earlier, with Tito Schipa, Beniamino Gigli, Ferruccio Tagliavini, and Mattia Battistini being my favourite singers. I also enjoy English and Viennese operettas. In classical music, I like Baroque through early Romantic. I prefer antique menswear (usually Edwardian) and accessories. I love wit, wordplay, and dry humour without vulgarity, though I do enjoy adult fun. I am happily childfree and am not religious. I have been totally blind since I was two months old, due to Retinopathy of Prematurity.
