I was so incredibly lucky to just happen to be in Grand Portage, MN, one of the premiere aurora viewing places, on the night of a particularly active and lively northern lights.

The pictures are great, but being there under the giant electric light show in person and seeing it all with my own two eyes is an unforgettable experience of a lifetime.

The aurora borealis, seen from the northern shore of Lake Superior in Grand Portage, Minnesota. Electric magnetic rays paint violent and bold vertical lines, striating into various colors ranging from pink to green, against a night sky. The stars peek from behind the sorcerous patterns that streak across the entire horizonThe aurora borealis, seen from the northern shore of Lake Superior in Grand Portage, Minnesota. It looks ghostly and ethereal, like it cannot possible be real.

Also, another question,
Is there a project that merge functionality of with ?
E.g. a cross compatibily layer with PubSubHubBub, webmentions, etc
To let user, website owner comment on user & vice versa.
I know following RSS/Atom wouldn't be an issue & that works. I'm more interested in dynamic notifications, pingbacks, search, federation between activitypub & indieweb.
Re-toot, this important.

(pinging @smallcircles🫧 socialcoding.. , because it is about small social circles, and you seem like the only indieweb person I know here on fediverse, you can ping people who related to IndieWeb)

Having spent part of this week in hospitals with an elderly person in decline, I'd like to commend everyone who pushed that back-to-normal narrative so hard, it really was one of the most successful propaganda efforts of all time.

Going through the Building Where Everyone Goes When They Get Very Sick, waiting in the Small Rooms Where Bored, Sick People Cough And Sneeze Together and being the only person in the room using the masks they give out at every door for free: A+ work, great experience.

open for weird game boy

this is my prototype for a game boy on a bus backplane, inspired (obviously) by the rc2014 and smallcomputercentral.com/ (among others). the backplane connectors break out every pin of the Game Boy SoC (the DMG CPU, to be specific), so you can pop in/remove cards that interface with any gb peripherals, or plug into the address/data buses directly. in the 2nd photo i'm using a pico 2 to convert the game boy's video out to ascii (to send over serial for debugging purposes)

close up, top down view: there's a large-ish PCB with rectangular sockets in a row, and smaller PCBs plugged into those sockets at a right angle. on separate cards, there are some blinky lights, buttons, game boy serial ports, SRAM, and a Game Boy CPUsame device as in the other photo, but pictured here beneath a computer screen, with an ASCII visualization of the Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening title screen in a terminal window
