The money people don't get it.

The joy is not simply in a "product". The joy is getting a glimpse of the humans who made it.

The coolest fucking thing about the good ol' days of the Internet that I remember is how much of it was just people showing other people some silly little thing they liked to do.

"Lord of the Peeps" comes to mind. Someone was posting photos of scenes from Peter Jackson's Fellowship of the Ring with Peeps as the characters. What a pointless project. How delightful!

The Internet was this brand new way of communicating with people great distances away, whom you've never met, & so many people just had the time of their lives seeing all the little creative things other random people out there in the world were doing.

We're sort of numb to it now, but there was a real joy to being able to see someone's secret useless talent or cute little project. Let's try & find some of that energy again. Let's find the joy of human creativity.

Any chemistry nerds out there? I'm trying to experiment with seed scarification using normal 20% acetic acid as a substitute for the more advanced method using concentrated sulphuric acid. Is it possible to calculate how much longer I would need to soak the seed if I knew the concentration and time of sulphuric acid used?

I hate the American media so much.

I'm overhearing family members watch the local TV news. They are breathlessly trying to install fear in the audience by talking about local crime while billionaires put the Constitution and the economy in a blender and push the “frappé” button.

I'm thankful for suggestions *when I ask for them*. I don't need randos in my mentions that don't even follow me, know nothing about the situation and just throw out smug, half-arsed replies because another tool or software works for *them* specifically. Fedi plz.

"Israel is continuing to lay siege to Gaza despite the “ceasefire” that officially took effect on October 10. On a daily basis, Israeli forces attack Palestinians in the enclave, killing more than 340 since President Donald Trump hailed his “peace” plan as a monumental accomplishment that would usher in a new era. The majority of the dead are women and children. Over the past week, Israeli forces, which still occupy more than 50% of Gaza, have penetrated deeper across the “yellow line” and Israel is threatening to restart its full-scale siege if Hamas does not disarm and surrender. Israel has also refused to allow in the agreed upon food, medicine and other life essentials to the enclave.

On November 17, in an unprecedented move, the UN Security Council formally endorsed Trump’s neo-colonialist plan for Gaza, including the deployment of an international force that would fall not under the command the UN, but operate at the direction of private board controlled by Trump. This force, according to Trump, would be tasked with disarming the Palestinian resistance and demilitarizing Gaza in an effort to strip Palestinians of their right to self defense.

In the latest in Drop Site’s series on the Palestinian resistance since October 7, Palestinian resistance leaders reflect on the path that got them here. We conducted a series of in-person interviews with senior officials from Hamas and Islamic Jihad. They discussed the events that led up to the October ceasefire agreement, their position on disarmament and Trump’s Gaza plan, and described how they see the state of the Palestinian liberation struggle. This report from Jeremy Scahill and Jawa Ahmad is a long and detailed read, but we believe it is well worth your time. The failure of most Western media outlets to report on the perspective of the Palestinian resistance is journalistic malpractice and a disservice to public understanding."

Trust our sovereign cloud! We run it in our own datacenter!

Says the vendor whom:

  1. Has Microsoft as their MX records (meaning: uses the MS cloud for mail),
  2. Records and stores every phonecall to them in Azure, transcribes it using CoPilot,
  3. Uses Win11 + O365 on nearly every desktop/endpoint,
  4. Is awarded Microsoft partner of the year,
  5. Has a website including portal which are completely infested by Microsoft, Adobe, Google and many others.

Yeah. Seems rather trustworthy :flan_XD:
