All my personal projects are now on with everything that was on GitHub and GitLab now migrated and archived.

The projects weren't getting much (if any) traction, but it's still nice to have them stored in a nice place. All the code is lot of old junk but it's special to me.

Some other time I'll try to migrate my website off GitHub Pages too.

sigh there's this thing called "deepwiki" which is a really broad source of technical misinformation. it covers a very wide variety of topics, each of them very shallowly (yes, ironic), and it has astonishingly good SEO. so it crowds out primary sources in search results for us lately. extremely annoying.

"TL;DM (too long; didn't monitor) is a fast, extensible progress bar for Python, forked from tqdm. This fork was created to provide continued maintenance and development as the original tqdm project has become unmaintained."

In Alaska, nature sculpted this lone tree into a frozen wave at sunrise.
Relentless wind, drifting snow, and rime ice stacked layer by layer until the branches looked like feathers made of frost.
That soft golden glow is the sun catching every icy strand, turning the whole scene into a winter sculpture for a few brief moments.
Bent by the storm, but still standing. Still reaching.

For reasons outside the scope of this toot, I'm wondering how well it works to control a modern phone almost entirely through voice input. Has anyone out there tried it and either succeeded or failed?

(For now, let's set aside all considerations of privacy and so on that might make you want to not do this at all or limit it to lower-accuracy on-device things.)

Over the years I've been asked many times for advice on pedagogy, what to read to learn more, etc. I've finally put together a bunch of materials into one blog post: Key Advice • Readings • Neuromyths • For Computer Scientists • Classroom Tips. Enjoy!

Official quote posts are in the latest beta version of Ivory on Testflight for Mac and iOS.

We've also made some improvements to fetching more post data which includes like/boost counts and replies. When going to a post detail, you'll see a loading bar in the top right corner which shows that Ivory is attempting to load more data if available.

If you are currently helping us test Ivory, we'd love for you to give it all a try. Thank you!
