Political parties are hungry for sensitive personal data about your views, opinions, voting preferences and ideological outlook. Parties will actively seek to obtain this information from surveys and canvassing. They will also purchase commercially available data-sets and use automatic processing to try and predict your likely voting beliefs and intentions. Some people might be happy to volunteer this information to parties, or for political parties to purchase data about them.

關扣妮，中國東北鄂倫春族人，15歲重病不癒，依族內薩滿信仰請神，卻發現她被神選中為薩滿，關扣妮開始學習薩滿知識，病情開始好轉，最終成為一位薩滿。

1953年關扣妮「響應」新中國「破迷信」無神論思想，舉行「告別神靈」儀式，放棄薩滿身份。

薩滿信仰相信萬物有靈，薩滿是人與諸神的溝通管道。薩滿都放棄做薩滿，意味被視為迷信的薩滿信仰消亡。

2008年，關扣妮透過薩滿儀式，想將薩滿信仰傳承給女兒。但儀式並不順利，關扣妮多次摔倒，無法與神溝通，最後在現場攝影團隊暫避後，儀式終於結束，但降神沒有成功。關扣妮表示：

「（神說）妳為什麼叫我啊，為什麼這麼多年，你們都把我們丟了忘了……（神）三番兩次告訴她（關扣妮），（祂們）接受不了。」

進行傳承儀式的女兒在隔年因車禍逝世，原本不想進行傳承、卻被政府要求進行儀式的關扣妮十分自責痛心，她原本希望傳承能讓本有疾病的女兒也能因此痊癒，但神靈卻不願意來，儀式失敗。

關扣妮死後，鄂倫春族再也沒有薩滿。

一個離開神明、毀棄神明、消費神明的國家，是令人毛骨悚然的。如今無神的漠河市裡的鄂倫春民族博物館裡，還擺放著關扣妮事蹟，那是極其殘忍的悲劇。

A year ago I installed solar panels+batteries, and now have a year of electric bills to compare.

2024: $4,133.13
2025: $655.62!

The entire year was less than the previous year's July bill.

Also got an EV last year so that amount ALSO includes my "gas" costs from charging at home. (~$1500/year with my prev gas car.)

Hard to think of a pair of purchases I've been happier with!
