is there a critique of that Knuth article? lots of people are gushing about it just b/c it's him, but I'm not familiar enough with its subject matter to tell if it's legit. however, stuff like this feels really off:

like, that's not how maths works

I use EUPL for my personal projects because if you use the software I developed myself and gave away for nothing in return, I expect you to give away your contribution for nothing in return. Or else write to me and pay me for it

It no longer seemed possible to gather everyone interested in fediverse dev around one table. Tempers frayed. People fell into FUD-spreading and mutual recrimination. The 'rough consensus and running code' approach to governing community watering holes like SocialHub didn't seem to work anymore.
In the absence of a broad agreement on one gathering place for fediverse dev discussion, what option do we have but to post where we we know most of the devs are? Which is the fediverse itself.

I'm building an open source ActivityPub service called "Moim" — 모임 in Korean, meaning gathering or meetup. It started as a federated RSVP service, but I realized I wanted to connect people even beyond events. Events are where people come together, yes — but places carry meaning on their own, even in quiet, ordinary moments.
So Moim is about helping people feel connected: through events, and through the simple act of sharing where they are.
Right now, I'm focusing on three areas:
I don't know yet if I'm building the right thing. But I'll keep going, and do my best to make it something worth using. If I'm ready, I will officially announce to public.

1. 휴대폰 계약
일본도 휴대폰 없이 뭐 하기 힘든 나라입니다. 그런데 집 주소가 없으면 뭐 하나 제대로 하기도 힘듭니다.
그런 여러분에게도 하네다, 나리타 입국시 주소 없이 바로 폰번호를 개통할 수 있는 방법이 있습니다.
입국시 재류카드를 받고 나서, 입국이 모두 완료되면 아래 페이지에서 휴대폰 번호 발급 수속을 진행합니다.

Call sim -> 용량은 적당히 -> 수령 장소 = 공항수령
이후 이메일을 받고 창구에 찾아가시면 그 자리에서 휴대폰 유심과 안내 책자를 같이 줍니다. 나중에 이심으로 교체 가능합니다.
나중에 원하는 통신사로 MNP(통신사 이전) 할 수 있으니, 일단 임시로 이 유심을 사용하시기 바랍니다.

2. 부동산 계약
- 처음 일본에 당도하신 분들께서는 부동산 계약이 겁나게 어려울 수 있습니다.
일본에 가기 전에 집을 알아보지 않으면 생활에 문제가 되지만, 일본에 가지 않고 집을 구하면 월세가 높다거나 좁다거나 역에서 멀다거나 기타 등등... 망한 집이 나올 가능성이 큽니다.
그리고 직접 물건을 찾으러 다니면 외국인 불가 부동산 물건이 너무나도 많아서 집 찾기도 힘들 수도 있습니다.
그래서 정 괜찮은 곳을 찾고 싶거나, 집을 정말로 못구했다... 하면 일본 정부에서 운영하는 UR 주택(월세가 조금 비쌈)을 추천합니다.
