I think #FetchAllReplies might just be another radicalizing moment for me in seeing how must of an influence a few hundred lines of code can have over the structure of a whole digital-technological system, we are a tiny instance of like a ~few hundred people on here per month and a ~few dozen ppl on here every day and i'm already seeing a gigantic difference in how alive the fediverse feels and how i use it, and @elduvelle did too and demonstrated the importance of #FetchAllReplies for moderation without even knowing it was deployed for sure. When everyone has it via mainline mastodon then we have a very different fediverse. Thinking about all the wasted opportunities, missed connections, and instances of harm and people leaving the fedi from a few hundred lines of code.

I think it’s fun to see all the support and rant reactions about Microsoft rewriting #TypeScript tooling in #Go instead of C# or Rust.

Notice that I said "fun", not "interesting". It’s fun because this is just the latest version of "vim vs. emacs" or "tabs vs. spaces". Everyone has opinions, everyone has their favorite programming language, but at the end of the day, 0% (or a very close number) of the people ranting about it are actually working on the project. It’s always easy to criticize someone else’s work when you have nothing at stake.

분명히 가족이라고 하더라도 가족끼리 이야기할 수 없거나 이해할 수 없는 일이 존재하는데, 모든 사회에서 가족은 가장 비밀이 없는 관계라는 생각이 당연하기 때문에, 청소년의 정신과적 문제는 아주 어렵다는 생각이 들어요.
자신을 보호해야 할 존재(보호자, 부모)가 부정하거나 이해하지 못하거나 모르니까요.

Some good news about #Mastodon, there has been a very significant bit of code added which will automatically fetch all the replies in a thread. This means everyone will be able to see a thread's whole conversation no matter which server they are on! 🥳

The code has just been "merged" which means it should become available in the next update to Mastodon, hopefully within the next few months.

I teach digital art at a public school that's also a K-8 arts academy.

I play #ttrpg games with my friends and release many of the sessions as a podcast.

I like giving new life to old tech. I use Linux but not well enough to be a jerk about it.

Most of my toots are followers only. Scrapers and AI are bad.

I do not boost images without alt text, politics without CWs, and I don't accept follow requests if there seems to be nothing in common between us.
