After the article from The Atlantic, I've seen a lot of misinformation circulating among journalists. I'm not getting into the political side of things, but many are focusing on the fact that Signal was used, claiming it's "not encrypted" or "not secure." This really saddens me because it spreads the wrong message.

Today I'm filled with gratitude as I think back about all the ways I have changed - and become more empowered - since I installed

on my VPS on December 17, 2024.
The biggest difference is my state of mind. For example, yesterday I started using #PeerTube, after setting up an account on the instance MakerTube. I am enjoying it IMMENSELY. I uploaded a couple of my videos there but then immediately thought: I should set up my own instance!
If you had told me 4 months ago that one day I would be a couple of clicks away from setting up my own PeerTube, I would have thought you were hallucinating. But #YunoHost has given me this power and confidence – for which I am infinitely grateful.
Since early February 2025 I have also gotten a bit of experience installing things on a separate VPS with command lines. Even if my self-hosted Ghost blog has given me lemons so far (Mastodon Hug of Death, you're to blame for this!) I am undeterred. I will try tweaking my NGINX settings next week, to set up a reverse proxy and increase my cache. Or heck, I could block Mastodon preview card requests and all my problems would go away. (If someone knows how to do that, please let me know!)
100 days of self-hosting, wow! I feel like a completely different person. Digital sovereignty rocks.
What are my goals for the next 100 days?
1) solving my self-hosted Ghost blog troubles
2) getting an education in caching, reverse proxies and the like
3) setting up my PeerTube instance

He asked how I met people for dates, then quickly changed the subject to how he got a writing number phone call but ended up chatting with the person. He immediately opened a chat app and showed me their conversation. Must have been 25 or more back and forths of messages, including her photo: obvious AI of a hot young Asian woman.

충격적인 경험을 한 날은 그날의 인상적이지 않은 순간들까지도 모두 기억에 남는다. 작년 12월 3일도 그랬다. 출근 둘째 날이었고, 이것저것 교육을 듣느라 종일 정신이 없었다.
7시쯤 퇴근해 저녁을 먹고 TV를 보면서 내 인사 정보를 작성하고 있었다. 그런데 갑자기 대통령이 비상계엄을 선포했다는 슬랙 메시지가 왔다. PD수첩이 나오고 있는 MBC를 비롯해, 지상파 어디에서도 속보조차 뜨지 않아 가짜뉴스에 낚였다고 생각했다. 네이버 뉴스에 들어가자 단신이 몇 개 올라오고 있었다.
내가 "어?"하는 소리를 내자 옆에 있던 아버지가 나를 돌아보셨다. "윤석열이 계엄 선포했어요", 아버지는 되려 그런 가짜뉴스 보지말라며 웃으셨다. 그리고 바로 리모컨을 잡고 YTN을 틀자...
