I don’t think sewing machines get enough recognition for what amazing pieces of engineering they are. Remarkably complex and high precision gearing (especially the multi-stitch versions), highly reliable, most are serviceable (some by pros, some by users), and remarkably cheap for all that high precision and complexity.

The initial konilo-over-irc system is running in the and # channels on libera.chat. This provides a full system, with separate memory, block storage, and stacks per user, and persistence between uses. It uses a lightly modified version of the standard VM, and runs on a stock system.

The initial code snapshot has been released on my patreon, and a general release will be made in the next few weeks, after further testing, cleanups, and documenting.

I've also been working on a hosted shell-based system, which should be released to my patrons within a few days, and more broadly next month.

It is official! We are hosting our own Nextcloud server for the students and staff of Amsterdam University College (AUC).

차별금지법으로 한창 얘기가 나오는 동안, 여성시대 등 터프 세력에서는 '차별금지법 찬성 및 일부 보완 요청'이라는 청원을 올렸는데, 내용은 바로 '성별정체성을 빼달라'라는 내용이었습니다. 하나라도 빠지면 혐오의 대상이 되게 됩니다. 차별을 조장하는 법이 되지요.

재미있는 숙제를 하는 기분으로 찾아봤습니다. 최초로 발명된 가위는 금속 한 장을 구부려 만든, 요즘 말로 하면 재봉용 쪽가위 같은 형태였다고 하고, 무려 기원전 3~4천년 전부터 발견됩니다. 날 두개를 연결한 회전축 가위(pivot scissors)는 18세기가 되어서야 등장하는데, 금속제품으로 유명한 영국 셰필드 Robert Hinchliffe가 만들었다고 하는 것 같습니다. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scissors#Early_manufacture [contains quote post or other embedded content]

from what i can tell, zfs complaining about labels is one of the failure modes when your drives fail. so those two may be irrecoverable. you can try running zpool replace <pool> /dev/sdX /dev/sdY but it’s not a given that it’ll work if two of your drives failed at once. If you only had one drive of redundancy then you’re virtually toast EDIT: they shouldn’t let me write before breakfast. i completely missed you writing about the mirror. lmk how exactly the replace errors out
