얼마전 컨퍼런스에서 대학생이 클라우드의 PaaS랑 서버리스 이용해서 프로젝트 한 얘기 발표하는데, 나름 시니어(?) 고인물(?) 쯤 되는 냥반이 질문을 가장한 맨스플레인을 시전했음. VM이 훨씬 더 저렴한데 굳이 PaaS나 서버리스를 쓰는 이유가 뭐냐고.

아직 잘 모르는 대학생이라 “아, 그쪽은 조사가 미흡해서 잘 몰랐습니다” 하고 넘어갔는데, 그 맨스플레인 시전한 냥반 뒤통수를 후려갈기고 싶더라. 언제적 VM 타령이여… 클라우드 한 10년쯤 전에 써본 경험이 전부인지 학~씨

안쓸 때 꺼 놓으면 VM이 싸다는 개소리나 하고 있으니… 그 냥반 일하는 회사가 불쌍하더라. TCO 개념이 없으니 저런 개소리를 하지. VM은 만들면 지가 알아서 굴러가냐? 그거 세팅하는데 필요한 인건비, 유지보수하는데 필요한 인건비는 뭐 흙 파서 메꾸나?

대학생이고, 어린 여학생이었어서 그런 소리 했다는 거에 내 발톱 밑의 때를 건다.

The FediAlgo hashtag filter section now highlights any hashtags you've posted about recently.

Interestingly the most I've used the app the more I've found feed filtering gets a ton of mileage for me. It's a huge change of pace to be able to instantly flip between whatever people are talking about on the Fediverse. Not really something you can do on any other social media platform I'm aware of.

Every once in a while, I read my old blog posts that link to other articles or blogs. 99% of those sites are now offline or show a domain-for-sale page. It kind of makes me sad. Most of my own websites are still online after 20+ years. I wonder why they gave up.

That being said, this instance will be online forever - I'll make sure of it. Even after my passing, I want it to live on. My websites have survived even when hosting companies went bankrupt, and so will this instance.

25 years ago, I was an intern at a multimedia company. We ported those old filmstrips you watched in school to a new media - CD-ROMs!

Now on YouTube for all to enjoy.

Anyway, one series that always had us giggling was this kids science series, where Sam, the invisible man and a doctor would discuss various things about his body.

But sometimes the dialog…was 👀 Like what exactly was the relationship here?!

4年ぶりに見た思い出野郎Aチーム。

「楽しく暮らそう」を聞いた瞬間、忘れていた何かを一気に思い出した気がして、ぶわっ！と涙が流れて来た。

そして、欲しかったこの「それはかつてあって2024」のCD-Rも入手。

物販に並んでいたら、見覚えのあるキャップとバッヂを身につけている方が…
しかも、着ているのは思い出野郎のTee。

ロクなご挨拶も出来なくて恥ずかしいばかりでしたが、作って、発送して、確かに到着しているだろうし、売上も立っているはずなのに、賃労働で体力を奪われて、路上に出る頻度が減ってからというもの、「現場」と呼ばれる場所で自分が作ったものを身につけている人を見かけたのは久しぶりで単純に嬉しかったです。

I've dumped Hugo and converted my blog to @stefanoStefano Marinelli 's BSSG!

It looks a little barebones but that's fine. The content is all there and it loads fast.

I did run into a snag. Don't init your BSSG environment into a directory path that includes a '.' otherwise it won't find your markdown files to generate.

(I was using ~/.local/share/blog but just moved it into ~/blog .. I was just trying to simplify my $HOME)

This really makes me want to write again!
