I love the idea of these configurable logic gates. Only need to stock one part to implement various gate implementations, nifty for hobbyists. For commercial projects they don't really make financial sense as they are a few cents more expensive than just buying two different single use parts.

Edit: Here is Nexperias Lineup: nexperia.com/products/analog-l

Texas Instruments and Diodes Inc also offer compatible parts.

A screenshot of a datasheet showing how the different logic functions can be configured by connecting different pins to either VCC or GND.

Foricbly specifying kmod repo like pkg upgrade -r FreeBSD-kmods

OK then so my update to 14.3-RELEASE hasn't fully worked. My second screen doesn't display anything and it looks like the DRM driver for my amd GPU might be at issue. I'm using the latest branch for packages but no GPU ????? What to try now as I have checked the contents of /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/FreeBSD.conf and it looks right to me ???? Help !!

screenshot of my FreeBSD.conf file.

If you must describe property destruction as "violence", in a ranking of "what is more violent", I would still rank forcibly separating a child from their family orders of magnitude above burning an empty Waymo.

I'll always be opposed to vandalism (it's pointless and just gives the state an excuse), but if you're opposed to that and _not_ speaking out against the far greater violence ICE unleashes upon families, I know that it's never been about violence at all.

Lessons learned when using in general and -k configfile: everyone hates whitespace at the end of a line and so does bhyve; to successfully configure PCI and LPC devices you have to follow the man pages to the letter; bhyve(8) slightly deviates from bhyve_config(5) it seems; contents of man pages may change, depending on the version (surprise!); I’m probably not experienced enough to understand why there is a difference between “normal” PCI devices and LPC devices and why this is reflected in the config syntax and there are very good reasons why (if I remember correctly when I had a look) chose to use bhyve command line options rather than -k configfile in their source code; the man pages do not always make clear that some bhyve features are experimental (and not compiled in) and reading the FreeBSD handbook is always worthwhile; my system was not unusable due to active ZFS deduplication during my experiments; bhyve appeared to excel in terms of performance, I did not expect that my VM runs so smoothly on a 15+ year old laptop (SSD upgrade only), didn’t try Windows yet though. And after all this I’m still not sure why I’m supposed to bhyvectl —destroy my VMs, like does that free up some resources somewhere? I did note that this makes the device node of the VM in /dev/vmm disappear though.

New Privacy Guides article 🌈💛
by me:

It's important to protect our data online, and this is doubly true for anyone in the queer community.

But protecting our data shouldn't mean staying isolated.

It can be difficult to find a balance,
but it is fundamental to stay connected with our communities.

There are tools and practices that can help us with this.

Stay safe 🔒
But stay connected :rainbow_heart:

According to the community site of my alma mater, I am an "ex-scientist" or maybe an "ex-researcher".

(Well, in German "ehem. Wissenschaftler/in")

How exactly does one stop being a scientist or researcher? I hope they don't mean one stops being that if one does not work for a university any more.
