It's all very ~big~, but it's actually really fine rather than being thick hair. I just have inordinately large quantities of it.
Only way I can stop it all breaking all the times is to keep it wrapped up in silks or in plaits, else I'm going to look like I've been dragged through a hedge backwards within a week

5-yr-old & father return to from “detention facility” [] following a judge’s order, acc/to TX Rep . The 2 were detained in a suburb on Jan 20.

A spox for the Democratic congressman, confirmed the 2 had arrived home. She said Castro picked them up from Dilley on Saturday night & escorted them home on Sunday to Minnesota.

~Let's make 30-year-old pocket organiser Casio Business Navigator BN-20 run some new software, part 4~

Recap of the previous episodes: our friend gave us a pocket organiser. As it happens, the organiser is based on Intel 8086-compatible core. It is related to Casio Pocket Viewer series, but unlike the PV, it doesn't have a way to "side-load" the applications.

So far we've dumped the ROM and tried to use it with Casio PV SDK. PV is compatible enough to kick-start the boot process, but the simulated OS crashes before it can even draw anything.

One interesting lead I decided to follow was the discrepancy between the CPU models in BN-20 and PV series: BN-20 runs on NC3020, and PV runs on NC3022. The documentation for Casio PV SDK mentions that a publicly-available simulator for NC3020 was a thing, too.

Can we find it? Can we run it? Yes we can!

This Statue of Liberty thread is especially relevant this year, when everyone is trying to pretend that US fascism against immigrants is something new, by ignoring the ongoing US fascism against Black people. People love to erase or ignore Black suffering. But we're still here, and we stubbornly refuse to be erased or ignored.

I was trying to formalize something I do not like about social media, but I can not put a finger on it exactly. I want to say it is performative in nature. It is a certain language that you do not usually encounter in real life conversation. Stuff that starts with...

The crucial point here.
It's really this simple.
I'm calling it.

The phrases on their own are harmless really. But the above phrases are an indicator of what I am trying to put a finger on. It is some kind of tone. Maybe a moralizing tone?

In den 1980er-Jahren gab es bei CDU und CSU in Bezug auf die AIDS-Pandemie zwei Positionen: In Bayern wollte Peter Gauweiler auf AIDS-Kranke das Bundes-Seuchengesetz anwenden. Er schuf für Bayern einen Maßnahmenkatalog, der Zwangstests und Absonderungen vorsah. Bereits zuvor ging er lokal in München mit großer Härte gegen schwule Lokale vor und bezeichnete AIDS-Kranke als "Aussätzige".

Die andere Position war Menschlichkeit. Die vertrat Rita Süssmuth beinahe allein.

I was so lost after Drake passed.

I work from home, and my routine wasn't the same.

The house was empty and felt so empty.

I almost gave up, he meant so much to me, my parents gave away my dog when I was 7, and I wanted one so bad since.

They gave my broa dog a few years later, and I cared for him better. I don't know why they never let me

Then I got Drake. He was always there for me. Watching me code.

A week after Drake passed, Jake was born.

I like to think Jake is Drake reincarnated 😭
