@jsJohn Spurlock Obviously I'm not doing anything as anyone intended. But I messed around with the clawdbot/moltbot/openclaw, I may have sandboxed it too much because even though it successfully calls the tool nothing gets created.

I don't think the web ui is how most people interact with these things, but it is very poorly designed haha

Anyways here's the Substack customer support bot attempting to write a file. I'll probably have to make some big adjustments to how it works in order for it to actually act autonomously.

The "Heartbeat" cron job, even though literally the only thing I had going was one silly reminder, ("remind me tomorrow to get milk") 1. Sent ~120,000 tokens of context to Opus 4.5 2. Opus read HEARTBEAT md, thought about reminders 3. Replied "HEARTBEAT_OK" 4. Cost: ~$0.75 per heartbeat (cache writes) The damage: - Overnight = ~25+ heartbeats - 25 ร— $0.75 = ~$18.75 just from heartbeats alone - Plus regular conversation = ~$20 total The absurdity: Opus was essentially checking "is it daytime yet?" every 30 minutes, paying $0.75 each time to conclude "no, it's still night."

~Let's make 30-year-old pocket organiser Casio Business Navigator BN-20 run some new software, part 4~

Recap of the previous episodes: our friend gave us a pocket organiser. As it happens, the organiser is based on Intel 8086-compatible core. It is related to Casio Pocket Viewer series, but unlike the PV, it doesn't have a way to "side-load" the applications.

So far we've dumped the ROM and tried to use it with Casio PV SDK. PV is compatible enough to kick-start the boot process, but the simulated OS crashes before it can even draw anything.

One interesting lead I decided to follow was the discrepancy between the CPU models in BN-20 and PV series: BN-20 runs on NC3020, and PV runs on NC3022. The documentation for Casio PV SDK mentions that a publicly-available simulator for NC3020 was a thing, too.

Can we find it? Can we run it? Yes we can!
