The Oklahoma senator who sponsored a new law to curtail citizen initiatives said he wants to “give more Oklahomans, not just the urban elites in Oklahoma City and Tulsa, a say in what questions qualify for the ballot.” Critics question his reasoning.

this includes if you describe your organization/laws/medical system as trans-affirming but they have no recognition of non-binary people

stop pretending like cis-normative (and hetero-normative) trans rights are rights for all trans people and start fighting for the rights of
all people of all genders

true trans liberation comes when everyone - cis and trans and otherwise - can look how they want, act how they want, and achieve the care that they want, while being supported by the people and systems around them

this includes informed consent hormones for
anyone who wants them

using whatever name and pronouns and identity terms for
anyone who asks

informed consent surgeries of
all varieties

and none of this being restricted by gender identity, presentation, characteristics, or other gatekeeping bullshit

Now this is a curious packaging bug! mathstodon.xyz/@bremner/114722

I blogged a little bit about my playing around in Racket on my MNT Pocket Reform, which is aarch64 based. I mentioned that Racket was way too slow, so I had switched to Guile.

It turns out the Debian packaging for Racket was compiling x86_64 for all platforms, and so Racket on Debian on ARM was being effectively *emulated* due to a packaging bug!

I guess I'm glad my little blogpost uncovered that!

현상-인화에서 영상 작업으로 워프한 느낌이다.;;

아니 뭐 실제 돌아가는 알고리즘은 내가 톤 커브랑 채도 커브 만지면서 하는 방식이랑 크게 다른 건 아닌데, 개념을 잘 분리해서 단계를 엄격하게 나눈 거긴 한데, 뭔가 당황스럽네. ㅋㅋ;

@simonSimon Willison Saw your blog post about putting Microsoft Edit in a docker container so you can run it on Apple Silicon.

I'm curious why you decided against using RustUp and Cargo Build --Release to get native binaries.

I'm not challenging your decision. I'm surprised about the choice and would have assumed it would be much simpler to use Cargo Build. So I assume there is some reason that doesnt work on Apple Silicon, or maybe you just don't like Rust.... 😂?

Want greener, cooler cities that are a “breath of fresh air?“ In case you thought Paris wasn’t ambitious enough this weekend, on top of our new exhibition, they opened the wonderful new “Urban Forest” in the square in front of City Hall! Part of Mayor Anne Hidalgo and her great team’s brilliant urban greening strategy.

The path through the new urban forest, one of two on either side of the SquareIn hot cities, people seek out shade and coolnessThey’ve been popular even in the days before their official opening, already filled with peopleEach of the two forests now frames the very big square, which is still big, but has an entirely different field now with the forests on either side

P.S.: dear PeerTube admins who mirrored the video on your instances to help offset its bandwidth consumption...

and dear regular PeerTube users who kept your browser on my PeerTube page to take advantage of the P2P function and also help with bandwidth

you're real life superheroes to me. I cannot thank you enough! ❤️

I only got a couple of reports of the video being down, but it was mostly up and very fast, traffic surges and all 🤗

@_elenaElena Rossini ⁂ In Brazil, we have already used your videos in actions to promote Fediverse on various social media, chats, and seminars, and it has had a notable positive impact. In other words, people are mobilizing to create accounts on Fediverse. In Brazil, Bigtechs are promoting events openly supporting the far right, so we are rushing to build alternative spaces for debate based on free platforms.

Thank You!

Good news, the Tuscolo CT logs are now "Qualified" (meaning that some of your certs are/will soon be using our CT log!!)

The bad news is that by including our new logs in the well known list of CT logs, some stuff now instantly crashes (seemingly because the array of non "Sunlight" (aka next gen) logs is empty).

Impacted things seem to include:

1. 80% of the food delivery app market in Brazil
2. Lots of banks in India
3. Lowes????
4. Basically any app that uses appmattus/certificatetransparency

Suboptimal.

Just one of the most powerful modern-day nazis announcing to rewrite history according to his Nazi ideology.

And all these "We can't afford to *not* use GenAI" executives (and others too ignorant/dim to realize what's happening) cheering on …

The Democrats have to contend with the fact that a candidate promising more bigotry, corruption and lower taxes won the popular vote.

Their choices are turnout more people who hate these things in future elections or start appealing to one of those three demographics.

So far it’s been none of the above.

DO NOT USE THE APPMATTUS CERTIFICATE TRANSPARENCY ANDROID LIBRARY.

Over two years ago the library's developers were warned about the need to monitor the ct-policy mailing list if they were going to consume the Chrome CT log lists.

Over six months ago, an upcoming change to the log lists was announced on ct-policy.

The Appmatus developers ignored this, so when the change was published today, Android apps using Appmatus stopped working. Affected app developers are now flooding CT mailing lists demanding the log list change be reverted. The right fix is to stop using Appmatus - they clearly do not have their users' best interests in mind.

Europe is in an interesting spot. Years of anti-tech and anti-growth policies means there are no homegrown big tech companies to switch to as relations with the U.S. get hostile.

Microsoft also is walking a tightrope of being a U.S. company that needs to sell to governments that their sovereignty is paramount.
