적당한 선행은 오히려 도움이 되는데, 그건 가르치는 사람의 몫이 된답니다
수학은 자연의 것을 수와 기호로 표현하거나 생각을 수학적으로 표현하는 것이라서
잘 풀어 설명하면 교육과정에 맞는 학년이 아니더라도 충분히 이해할 수 있어요.
예시로, 초등학교 3~4학년 아이들에게 수수께끼나 퍼즐이라면서 중학문제를 x, y같은 문자가 아닌 친근한 글로 바꾸어 문제를 내면 아이들끼리 이것저것 시도하면서 풀어낸답니다.
결국에는 국어적인 측면에서 아이들이 이해하는 표현을 사용한 문제이느냐가 관건이 되는 거에요.
반면에 너무 선행을 하지 않게 되면 고등학교에 가서 늘어난 새로운 개념의 양에
아이들이 버거워서 공부를 몇과목씩 포기하게 되는 경우가 있어요.
초등학교 1년 과정의 개념 양을 1 이라고 하면 중학은 2, 고등은 6 정도로 대략적으로 환산하고 있어요.
점점 늘어나는 공부의 양을 시간이 있을때 미리 해둔다면 미래의 짐을 덜어내는 길이 될거에요.
그렇지만 가르치는 사람이 그 학생의 수준에 맞게 잘 가르쳐야겠지요...
저는 문과도 이과도 아닙니다. 그렇다고 예체능도 아닙니다.
