In an open letter, we have joined other organizations in calling for Aura Salla’s appointment as Digital Omnibus rapporteur to be withdrawn.

Before becoming an MEP, Ms Salla was an executive lobbyist at Meta, serving as its Public Policy Director and Head of EU Affairs. And here stated goal is "to cut EU digital regulation".

Therefore, she is not suitable for the job as rapporteur.

这四句话，就是教科书式的“搅浑水”，在里面你既能看到“美国也有这样的问题”，也能看到“复杂中国论”，总之是能当外宣模板的那种。1、树稻草人，否定一个无关的事（谁说蒸馏是攻击了？没人说是，你说“不是”，你不是在搅浑水是在干嘛？）2、混淆概念，把“用已有的人类知识训练大模型”（正常做法，存在版权问题但只要付费就不是问题）等同于“蒸馏”（不当竞争，不是付费不付费的问题），3、倒打一耙强行拉平，be like你说俄罗斯不安全，他说日本也不安全，至于量的问题，他是不会说的，更有趣的是，如果“Meta也蒸馏中国模型”足以成为一个反驳，岂不是相当于承认了“蒸馏”是坏事？既然是坏事，谴责一下怎么了？4、最终目的就是“把水搅浑”，“糊涂账”嘛，就不要追究了。可是作为消费者，当你知道你用的A是蒸馏B训练出来的，那为啥不直接用B？我点汉堡王送货的是麦当劳，那我为啥不直接点麦当劳？这是什么“糊涂账”吗？一点儿都不糊涂好吗？

What I shared was a link to the actual post on Liliputing, but when I pasted in the URL it suddenly disappeared leaving behind what I thought was a link preview.

But now I see it's actually not a link preview but a quote post! So, the Liliputing *website* itself hooked up directly to #ActivityPub, is that how it works @liliputing? 😮

While sitting at the Laguna, I was watching quite a lot of "content creators" creating their identical looking short videos, using the same poses etc. that are probably "trendy" on TikTok and Instagram.

And I think that made me understand why some people find "#AI" or #LLM's so appealing: If you only care about "creating" carbon copies of existing things, and measure success by how close you get to the "original", then side-stepping the actual act of creation must seem like reasonable step.
