Danish Coffee Festival was fun, I have had too much coffee and am extremely wired
Also trying to roast my first batch was a lot of fun, when the guy doing the workshop started talking with me and I asked if I could choose roast level, his eyes kinda lit up. So I got to try doing a manual roast with an overlay he had created for lighter roasts, as he explained what to do and how it worked, he also gave me some additional greens just to compare, and taught me A LOT. He seemed very happy to have someone very enthusiastic come by, very very fun.
Also got to try turkish coffee made in actual sand, the guy said it had notes of bread and I was very like “really now”, but he was absolutely correct, very cool experience.
A lot of the things were also very consumer, some cups were not really that impressive, a lot of sales people were sorta wrong about things, one guy couldn’t really internalize that pressure was a variable I could modulate.
Also one shop had some pretty green beans, freshly roasted, but I did ask what they were serving, and they were serving 3 day old light roasts, which was really not rested, and re: my last coffee post, the crema was very bubbly :p
I think the best coffee there was from a roastery called prolog, most things sold there seemed to be just water washed and not really fresh roasted… one other shop had a honey processed batch, but sadly they weren’t serving it until after I had left, so didn’t get to try it.
Ohh also, there was a painter who was painting with coffee, which looked really cool.
