개인적으로 bootstrap이나 tailwind를 좋아하지 않는다. 이런 CSS 프레임웍이 굉장히 작은 단위(일반적으로 컴포넌트)의 스타일을 클래스 집합으로만 컨트롤 하려고 하기 때문이다.
CSS(Cascading Style Sheets)는 그 이름에서 알 수 있듯이 계층 구조를 기준으로 동작한다. 부모 요소에서 자식 요소로 스타일을 상속하는 게 중요한 개념 중 하나이고 이걸 이용하면 여러 페이지 단위의 스타일을 일관성 있게 잡을 수 있다. 물론, 개발에서 특정 클래스를 반복 출력하는 것도 결과는 같을 수 있겠지만, 개발 편의를 위해 CSS 규칙을 깡그리 무시하는 방식이 tailwind 같은 거라고 보는 입장이다.
어차피 공통 스타일은 필요하지 않나. 그래서 컴포넌트를 쓰더라도 글로벌 스타일을 따로 선언해두고 예외를 CSS-in-JS로 처리하는 것이 맞다고 본다.
오픈스트리트맵 위키의 초보자 길라잡이 목록을 최신화 했다. Node가 마디로 번역되었다던가 이상한 부분이 있다고 생각하지만 일단은 기존 번역어를 유지하는 걸로.. 🙁 OSM 프로젝트에 깊이 관여하지 않다 보니 전에 결정된 내용을 바꾸기 부담스럽다.

어제 타임라인에서 맥미니 서버로 어느정도 규모까지 버틸 수 있을지에 대한 고민이 지나가는걸 봤는데 1월부터 신형 맥미니로 이것저것 운영해본 경험 안에서는 오히려 문제는 서버 기계가 아니라 가정용 전원과 가정용 인터넷에서 터질 것 같다.
All of the "debate" about trans people assumes, at some level that we're making it up. Maybe we're not making up the dysphoria but we're making up our identities, right? You can't just identify as something, can you? I mean, you were an X and then you decided to be a Y, right?
No. We're not making it up and that's not the way any of this works. And the moment you really, truly accept that trans identities are real and that we're not making it up, suddenly you come face to face with the horror of what transphobia does to people.
All the trans kids in US red states or in the UK? Yeah, they're fucked. Kids are being forced to go through the wrong puberty against their will, leaving them with lifelong trauma. Young girls are being forced to go through male puberty, cracking their voices and covering every inch of their body in hair. Young boys are being forced to grow boobs and be oggled by men for a body they hate. And all this is because a handful of adults, who don't even know a trans kid, much less are their parents have decided that they know better and that being forced through that horror show is somehow good for them.
Adults, meanwhile, are losing jobs, homes, and families. They're finding themselves out of work with families to feed. Every trans adult I know with kids is terrified someone will use their transness to get their kids taken away. Government officials all over the US are debating, trying to figure out how to make our very existence illegal. Every time I fly, I have to pay attention to connections to be sure I can legally pee between flights. Even in supposedly supportive workplaces, calling someone on their transphobia or speaking up for yourself gets you quickly labeled a troublemaker or "dramatic" and the hurt feelings of the transphobe are often more important than your emotional safety. It's a hellscape out there and it's only getting worse.
It's easier for most cis people to just put their heads in the sand and join the debate than look that reality in the face.
But trans people don't have the luxury of debate. I'm a woman. I always have been. It's not my fault that a decent chunk of the US population thinks I'm a guy and wants to force me to live as one. That's ridiculous. Why should I debate those people when they take as an axiom that I am something I'm not? Fuck that shit! But I am forced to live with the consequence of those people's bad decisions because those people vote and make laws and rule bureaucracies based on their (often intentional) misunderstanding.
Don't get me wrong. I get that people are confused. Gender transition is legitimately a little weird and, especially if someone close to you transitions, it can take a little getting used to. I get that people have questions. I'm generally happy to answer questions, even if they're not quite the right question. I actually love those conversations when they come from a place of curiosity and a desire to learn. But I'm not going to debate my existence.

I met my birth mother for the first time in early January. She turned out to be a lovely person, and my personality is definitely more like hers than it is like any of the adopted family I grew up with. I've also since enjoyed meeting other birth relatives.
Today I spent a pleasant few hours with my mother and her surviving sister (who I was meeting for the first time). Mum gave me these lovely coffee mugs, and my aunt gave me a necklace which had been owned by their late father. I'm feeling very loved. ❤️
