이미지로만 보던 그 유명한 파도 그림을 보고 왔습니다. 실제로 보니 질감과 세밀함이 정말 감동스럽더라고요. 작품 교체를 하는데, 후지산이나 파도 그림은 전반기에 전시하는 것 같아요. 전반기는 11월 2일까지.

"국립 "청주" 박물관에서 전시합니나. "충주" 아니에요. 이상 충주에 가서 밥 먹고 청주에 가서 관람한 1인이었슴미다.

이집트 아비도스의 세티 1세 사원에는 이른바 "헬리콥터 히에로글리프"로 불리는 문자 새김 기록이 있어요.

과연 현대인에겐 헬리콥터, 비행선 등으로 보일 형상이긴 하죠. 그래서 유사과학 신비주의자들이 "고대 문명의 초월적 기술"이라느니 "외계 문명의 흔적"이라느니 해요.

그러나 실상은 원래 문자가 있었던 자리에 새로운 문자를 새기다 보니 문자가 겹치면서 뜻하지 않게 나타난 형상일 뿐이었어요.

당연하다. 그 시절에는 누구나 자유롭게 포털을 열고 워프를 할 수 있었다. 헬리콥터 따위의 열등한 탈것이 왜 필요했겠는가.

만약 고대 이집트 외계 문명이 수천 년 존속하는 동안 헬리콥터 따위를 운용했다면 엄청난 화석연료 소모와 탄소 배출로 심각한 기후 위기가 발생했을 것이다. 하지만 고대 외계인은 반물질을 동력원으로 하여 시공간의 만곡을 일으키는 방식으로 이동하였기에 그런 문제를 겪지 않았다.

The little red dots in the early universe could be 'quasi-stars'.

Calculations show a quasi-star could form when a gas cloud over 1,000 times the Sun's mass collapses and forms a black hole. Its outer layers would be big enough to absorb the resulting supernova without being blown apart! Then you'd get a huge star powered not by fusion but by gravity, with a black hole in its center.

Such a star could be as luminous as a small present-day galaxy! And that's what little red dots are like.

As a quasi-star ages, it should cool down, and eventually the gas on the outside would dissipate, leaving behind a black hole. Such 'intermediate-mass black holes' could be the ancestors of the supermassive black holes we now see in most galaxies. This would solve a mystery: we don't know how such big black holes arose.

Pro tip:

Don't embarrass yourself by mixing up a quasi-star with a Thorne–Żytkow object! That's when a neutron star falls into an ordinary large star. We may have seen one of those in the Small Magellanic Cloud, a small galaxy orbiting the Milky Way.

thinking about that time i was working a minimum wage pc repair job and somebody drops in a huge tower, brand new build, but pci-e socket ripped off from not removing gpu clip, asking if we can do /anything/ to get it booting again becuase he tried to smush the socket body back on over the pins and just shorted them all

without any better options i had to settle for tweezers and a business card to keep the rows from touching
i still feel a little bit sorry for the guy. he paid £60 for us to cut up a business card and slide it into the mess.
