I would like to give an update on "federation" on Bluesky.
My expectation was it was unlikely we'd ever see this happen because "federation" on ATProto means basically reproducing the entirety of the Bluesky software stack. In old Big Data terms, on ActivityPub your instance is a "horizontal shard" of the network; ATProto forces full DB replicas only.
Still, we're seeing movement on this front, which I'd split into two categories:
1. Your fault (you reading this)
2. Aaron Rodericks's fault

腰と手を一緒に縛られた状態では、水を飲むにも頭を下げてなめるようにするしかなかった。仕切りのないトイレには下半身を隠す布が一枚あるだけだった。拳ほどの穴からほとんど日差しは入らず、わずか2時間だけ小さな中庭に出ることが許された。8日間、米国移民当局に拘束された労働者とその家族は、2025年、平凡な韓国人として暮らしてきて想像したことのない人権侵害と不条理を伝え、衝撃を訴えた。
現代自動車‐LGエナジーソリューション合弁バッテリー工場で行われた不法移民の取り締まりで拘束されていた労働者330人が今月12日に帰国し、拘禁当時に経験した人権侵害の状況が次々と伝えられている。
14日に明らかになった彼らの証言に映し出された収容施設の様子は、衛生、外部との連絡、異議申し立て、状況説明など、国際社会が定めた被収容者処遇の最低基準（ネルソン・マンデラ規則）がすべて崩壊した状態だった。
逮捕の過程からして呆れるものだった。いわゆる「ミランダ原則」の告知など基本的な説明すらなく、誰も状況を正しく把握できなかった。40代のLGエナジーソリューション協力会社の社員、ソ某氏は「自分が逮捕されている状態だとは思いもしなかった。身分確認の手続きだと思っていたら、ある書類にサインするよう求められた」と語った。
また、別の協力会社の社員K（48）氏の家族は「書類に『アレスト』（arrest・逮捕）という文字が目についたので、『これ、やってはいけないんじゃないか』とひそひそ話したが、捜査官たちが銃を持っていたので、とりあえず署名してしまったそうだ」と伝えた。

So I just rebuilt my personal #python venv in my home directory on my #linux daily driver laptop. I did pip freeze > requirements.txt to capture all the packages I had installed. Then I took away all the ==a,b.c versioning so I'd install the latest compatible version.
Then I ran uv pip install -r requirements.txt. This blew me way:

Today's bike club ride was my ride category's annual metric century¹, which didn't quite reach 100 km this year for reasons. It was a great day to go back and forth along the waterfront (we go west from Ashbridges Bay to a nice waterfront park in Oakville and then back), and I always enjoy this ride provided that I don't do it too often. I'm at 130 km for the day so I'm definitely having ice cream tonight.
